DCP: "The Theological And Historical Ignorance Of Protestants Is Astounding."

Post by Everybody Wang Chung »

Not content with publicly attacking and smearing the Community of Christ, Evangelicalism, Calvinism, Scientology, Judaism and Catholicism, DCP has now set his sights on attacking the Protestants.

Over at the DiscussMormonism Obsession Board, DCP upvoted and whole-heartedly agreed with the following comment:
DezNat Member TDL wrote:Naturally, he fails to elaborate why Christ held the temple in such sacred reverence that he chased the money changers out, why Paul had visions in the temple, why the Apostles worshipped there often post resurrection, and he even fails to understand the significance of Christ "temple" (body) being torn down then raised up again 3 days later and how that might possibly relate to the temple itself. The theological and historical ignorance of protestants is astounding. Can't explain why you don't have a temple? Simply declare they are not needed based upon thin scripture interpretations!

After upvoting the comment, DCP responded:
Paster$on wrote:Exactly. Thanks for the above.
It's obvious at this point that DCP holds other religious beliefs in utter contempt. I wonder which religious belief DCP will attack and degrade next.....

It’s also a complete misrepresentation of Cox’s point, which had to do with the arguably *excessive* number of temples that the LDS Church has been building. All the things that TLD is describing are doable with *one* temple. You don’t need hundreds of temples, including in places where there are scarcely enough LDS to justify them, in order to chase money changers or “worship.” But TLD is a sociopath and a violent degenerate, so it’s no wonder he’s a welcome participant on SeN.

I do not begrudge Mr Peterson making criticism of other faith traditions. Good criticism can become a positive force. Lame criticism doesn't much good or bad. I think this particular example may to be closer to the second kind.

Pardon my ignorance, but the board under discussion here doesn't seem to be MD&D? Could I get a pointer where to go?

The remark from DCP appears to be a shot to his own head.
With respect to historical and theological ignorance, Mormonism in general lies on the extreme end of the ignorance spectrum.

DCP shows that he has the human need to elevate himself relatively to a group he compares himself with, while at the same time being completeley ignorant of reality.

If Autumnal Thoughts is what I was suppose to read, that was just weird. Started out okay, but seemed to go down a vortex the further along I read.

Perfect definition of Mormon theology and its apologists defenses of it.

The OP is referring to the next entry down -- the one about temple building.
