Hamas wants to destroy Israel. In other news, water is wet.

The issue is whether or not Israel gets to retaliate by slaughtering thousands of innocent children. It is hard to argue that it is immoral with a people who believe their God once ordered them to kill every man, woman, and child among the Amalekites.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that it is the religious element that has allowed this to happen. How can we progress as a species if we're beholden to ancient mindsets about morality that are limited by a God who wants retribution and vengeance according to depictions of him described 4,000 years ago? In any other context this would not be tolerated. Even the USA refrained from carpet bombing thousands of cornered civilians after 9/11, but we have no problem funding such an operation so long as it is God's chosen people doing it.

Israel is even willing to kill their own people being held hostage for crying out loud. The number one priority here is payback and retribution. Because, you know, the Jewish God is an angry God.

How many innocent German children died when the US tried to kill off the party responsible for the last major pogrom that resulted in World War II. If only a proportional response is permitted in war than why was the US allowed to kill more Germans than Americans? Why couldn't the NAZIs just launch rockets from their hospitals and thus become untouchable according to the Geneva convention. I've yet to hear the media complaining about the death and suffering of Russian civilians, not to mention conscripts killed by US funding of the Ukrainian army. Trying to create a moral equivalence between breaking into homes and putting a baby in an oven and roasting it alive while making the parents watch with civilians of a terrorist, illegal, and immoral regime getting killed as a result of being made into a human shields is just wrong. It really is a simple as Nomo stated. You don't believe Israel has the right to exist and therefore should not have the right to defend itself or destroy hostile regimes committed to its extermination like Hamas.

We (the world collectively) are continually reinforcing the idea to Palestinian youth, that their lives have no value. This is a textbook on how to create radicalized martyrs. Until the world brings pressure onto Israel to stop with the asymmetrical retribution, there will be no peace. And that would only be a starting point.

They've been doing that since they encouraged residents to move south. Hamas started to fire rockets from refugee camps in the south toward areas in Southern Israel. I don't offer that as any sort of justification, but to illustrate how difficult it is to kill only Hamas members when they are dispersed within a civilian population. The Israeli government and the IDF have been dealing with Hamas for years. I find it hard to believe that both didn't understand exactly what Hamas would do in response to the directives to civilians to move south.

When it started, I was thinking 10:1. I was optimistic.

In America, the hierarchy of hate has Arab Muslims at the very top (or bottom, I guess?). Incidentally, the religious/ethnic group that has the most hate crimes committed against them in America tends to be Sikhs. Because being in idiot, and hating people for existing, tend to go hand-in-hand; and "turban = Muslim."

Eventually, all of the extremists clamoring to "support Israel" will go back to hating Jews, saying they control everything, and blaming them for starting wildfires with space lasers. But, opportunities for Muslims to be killed en masse can't be passed up. Even if it means pretending to care about the lives of Jews for a while.

F*ck Hamas. F*ck the IDF. Jewish kids, and Palestinian kids shouldn't have to live in fear of being killed for merely existing.
