Another one:
Another one is figure 7 in facsimile 2. "Represents God sitting upon his throne, revealing through the heavens the grand key-words of the priesthood: also the sign of the Holy Ghost unto Abraham in the form of a dove.
The sketch of the facsimile indicates that we only have the "head" of the "dove:"

Mekis argues "the next figure is Nehebkau who offers the wedjet-eye to the sitting deity before him" Mekis 275.
When one checks out other hypocephalus this figure looks like a lizard. See holdings of British Museum.

Gee responded to the sacrifice issue.
Her response was NO THEY WOULD NOT.
Kara Cooney on Gee:Your message is somewhat opaque, but I will do my best to answer your questions such as I understand them.
You mentioned the writings of Caroline Seawright, an undergraduate student of archaeology at La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia. I did manage to locate the essay you seem to be referring to (https://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/humansac.htm). While Ms. Seawright may be a potentially promising archaeology student, and is certainly enthusiastic, she has not engaged much with the literature in the field and her sources are often dated. She is only an undergraduate; you should not be too hard on her. She seems to provide a popularized overview of human sacrifice during the Early Dynastic period, but her knowledge of the practice in later periods leaves much to be desired. We have archaeological evidence of the practice from both Tell el-Daba and Mergissa. We have many inscriptional references to the practice from at least the Middle Kingdom through the Third Intermediate Period, and we have two copies of ritual handbooks describing how it was done that match with the archaeological evidence.
You ask why Abraham would have been the subject of human sacrifice. He actually tells us why in the Book of Abraham and his reasons match to the Egyptian prescriptions for human sacrifice. Kerry Muhlestein and I discussed this over a decade ago in an article which is cited in the chapter on human sacrifice in BYU Studies.
There seems to be a small typo in your letter with an unfortunate implication. Jacques Kinnaer is a Belgian; he is not Belgium. He specialized in Early Dynastic Egypt, and so would have been familiar with the human sacrifice of the First and Second Dynasties. As far as I can tell, he dropped out of the field about twenty years ago.
If you want to learn about human sacrifice in Egyptian history, might I recommend a book on the subject:

Best wishes,
John Gee
I asked the question whether the Egyptians used a lion couch for an execution along with other equipment used in mummifications such as canopic jars. I don't imagine the subject of an execution would be entitled to be mummified.Subject: Re: sacrifice in Egypt

First dynasty human sacrifice is real, but, interestingly, Egyptologists like Christiane Koehler are now pushing back against the concept. There is also evidence of human sacrifice at Karnak at the beginning of the Middle Kingdom. I’m surprised he didn’t mention it. As for Tell ed Daba, that’s not human sacrifice, just dismembered human hands. No evidence that anyone died….
The human sacrifice angle is an interesting one and a means of proving the “truth” of the Book of Abraham. But it won’t work, as it is based on a misunderstood image from the Book of Breathing.

RANT TIME, GODDAMNIT!

The apologists are full of BS. John Gee and his lapdog Kerry-boy are two liars in a pod -- dirty liars caught with their pants down doing nasties.
I've explained the 2,300 BC vs. 3,000 BC fatal error in Joseph Smith's Book of Abraham revelations. Apologists and critics have been avoiding the elephant in the room because nobody wants to talk about it. There is no saving the Book of Abraham. The party is over. Turn out the lights. Egypt was founded and established long before the Bible had any clue about what Egypt was about and it's corrupt timeline to include Smith's false revelations regarding it. It's over!!! Chapter ONE is BS! Utter BS!
F-u John Gee! You liar for the Lord and your corrupt church and crappy university in which you are enslaved.
YOU are the slave, John Gee, not the poor guy in Facsimile No. 3 who had his snout hacked off because Smith was making crap up and covering his tracks when he learned the truth about Anubis in Masonry and other sources brought to his attention.
You're a liar, John! You spout the Narmer Palette being 3,000 BC and yet claim the origin story of Egypt as given in the Book of Abraham and Smith's own published biblical time line dating to 2,300 BC.
You f-ing liar! Sack of human garbage with a forked tongue.

Smoot, you're a dumb ass. You are so over your head, boy.

ANOTHER RANT!

The apologists are out of their minds and don't know how to count. A king of Egypt in 3,000 BC (Narmer/Menes) does not match up with Smith's story of Noah and the ark in 2,300 BC -- blazing a trail southward into Africa to establish the nation of Egypt. BS! Chapter ONE of the Book of Abraham is fabricated history that has no basis in fact.
The Mormons are full of BS. Liars. The Book of Abraham is TRASH. Utter garbage.
Hey, Dan Peterson, f-you! You fat ass! You liar.
