Watching the new recently on those secret recordings of Justice Alito and his wife, it seems it will be the nonbelievers in religion who might experience persecution. When Martha spoke about the gay flag flying for the month she felt "vergogna" which I understand is Italian for "shame." Justice Thomas has been said to mention that the court might now attend to the issue of birth control and gay marriage. Where are the conservative libertarians? Martha Alito, it seems, wants to punish the media and is still holding a grudge over some reports about her standards of dress. Never, never attack a woman about her clothing. One of the tasks of Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda minister, was to close media outlets they did not like. Putin has done it in Russia. Will Trump, if elected, start to attack the rights of CNN, CNBC and the "failing" New York Times? (Trump's words.) I feel like the US is going back to the dark ages. Those MAGA folks have plenty of guns and will act. Scare blacks when lining up to vote.

My takeaway from all this is not, "What are we going to do about Christian Nationalism?" (which is certainly a big damned problem). My takeaway is, "How the “F” are we going to bring sanity back to the Supreme Court?" The conservatives on the court are wackadoodle.

We should be greatly alarmed by the fact that the Supreme Court seems likely dominated by extremely doctrinaire religious fanatics. That they happen to be Christian makes no difference. Christian fanaticism has often historically proven to be every bit as irrational, evil, and inhumane as any other brand of religious fanaticism, or, for that matter, non-religious fanaticism.

If by "attack" you mean "criticize," then yes. But it'll be those institutions, not their rights.

This is an open question. Trump himself may have a go at it but his supporters absolutely will try. Will his mass of better coordinated supporters succeed to strip away freedom of the press? I think not, but I give it 10% odds.

This part is correct. MAGA will not attempt to take power with guns. There are a myriad of reasons why, but the most fundamental reason is that they are a bunch of losers who can't shoot, and don't have the discipline nor the ability to coordinate themselves.

There is a group of Trump pastors called the Black Robes, and/or the Gideon 300 (I'm not certain of the overlap) who supposedly wear black robes (they haven't been when talking about it on YouTube) who wear military uniforms underneath, and stand by for Trump's orders. But you pick up on little things, dishonorable discharges and the like from the real military, and it's hard to believe so many of them would have the ability to submit to a commanding officer no matter who it is. LARPing is easy.

Do as you see fit, but 99.9% of the "prickles" in this case could be fixed by a small amount of punctuation. If you think you can bring yourself to put a comma after "introvert," "said," or after "like to say", it could lower tensions by a DEFCON level or two.
