Here’s to all the ‘suckers and losers’ who didn’t think about ‘what’s in it for them’.
I knew Joshua Wheeler personally; he had come by my office a couple of times to shoot the crap. I never really figured out why he took a small, albeit honoring shine to me - we had no intersection in life other than being in the same cavernous building and I briefed him once on his responsibilities regarding OPSEC and the like.
He was probably the hardest man I knew. Hard not in the negative sense, but hard as woodpecker lips, and was cut from the same stuff as David Goggins, who I sometimes reference on this board.
Josh died in an heroic act, in an attempt to help strangers - a man who literally ran into a firefight fight so others may live. Like a few others I knew during my time at the Unit, Josh’s death hit hard, but especially so because he took the time to get to know me, and to share some stories.
Here’s to the men and women who gave their lives, for whatever reasons that led them into military service.

On this Memorial Day which probably 70% of the American public have no clue what it is nor do they care to research various patriotic days before they say Happy Memorial Day while some of us take it right in the gut.
Thank you for that moving tribute, Cam. Sgt Wheeler sounds like someone I would have liked to encounter in real life though I did not when I worked on a U.S. Army post.

Amen.
he/him we all just have to live through it,
holding each other’s hands.
Trump in 2016: “She shouldn’t be allowed to run...If she wins, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and, ultimately, a criminal trial. It would grind government to a halt.”
My phone is blowing up with text messages for campaign contributions from BOTH sides. There's even one with Bobby De Niro's name on it. Hey Bobby...you're worth a half a billion dollars, go lob your own money into the campaign and yeah, I'm talkin' to you.
I am not a member of any political party.
That is all.

After Republican feedback, he has amended that to "he loves Milwaukee" and that "he selected it for the RNC Convention".
This is of course another of Trump's many lies. The site went through a bid process and was selected solely by the RNC with Trump having nothing to do with it. Trump lies compulsively and cannot control himself in his lies.
Trump and Fox News claim Biden will be on drugs for the upcoming debate, which probably means they are trying medications on Trump that will allow him to concentrate.
