Re: Am I Racist
The problem I have with people like Matt Walsh is that they are the mirror image of the most extreme activists among their opponents. It seems like lots of these people, Walsh included, are trying to trade on controversy to gain notoriety. Gender arguments, something Walsh is famous or infamous for weighing in on, are really a clustereff. So far I am unimpressed with arguments coming from both sides. It seems to me that a lot of work needs to be done before we really understand what is going on. In the meantime, a lot of rage mongers get to call each other evil and stupid until better science emerges. I will sit most of these arguments out just as I do with most arguments about Israel. To enter the debate is to lose too much. Race is another fraught subject that almost everyone gets wrong to a degree. Strident voices sometimes seem like they are looking for cover to indulge their inner asshole.
Beyond saying I will treat all people with respect and watch on politely as they do what they want to do, I feel to stay out of the fray most of the time.

I think I might be waiting as well. But no, I'm confident it's going to be an awesome movie. And unlike a daily news show which is worthless after a week or two, this movie will be a classic that will live on for some time. Matt gives the race profiteers just enough rope to hang themselves. Watching this movie would be pure torture for most on this board. The cognitive dissonance would be so painful they'd be bolting for the exits within minutes. They couldn't watch this movie if they tried.ceeboo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 12:34 pmI'm confused - Upthread, you said it was a must see. You haven't seen the movie yet?
Anyway. I asked my bride if she wanted to go see it (She almost always picks the movie when we go) - Well, her response leads me to believe that I have two chances, slim and none. Perhaps, sometime down the road, it will be available on other platforms.
The previews alone were good enough. My favorite was the black woman who sued the parade for $25 million for not hugging her black daughter when her daughter asked the mascot to do so. It was against company policy to hug any children. Racism is just a very powerful tool for getting whatever you might want at the time. That's why we'll never get to a post racial America, not because people are suffering from racism more now than ever in the history of the world, but because as a tool, accusations of racism can get you just about anything you want in a court of law, whether it's OJ getting acquitted for murder, a common criminal thieving and attempting to avoid accountability, or becoming the president of Harvard university, or even president of the United States. Why would they ever give up a tool like that? As Louis Farrakhan said, "It's their power."

And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Re: Am I Racist
You need a certified DEI instructor to make sure you get it right. Normally that will cost you around $10,000 per dinner in which you'll be told how racist and privileged you are based on nothing but the level of pigmentation in your skin. Don't waste time agonizing over the decision to purchase or not. Your employer has already been forced to purchase this training for you, possibly from Robin DeAngelo herself. Not even your own liberalism will save you from this, as was the case with the fragile white women in the movie. But don't worry, the university will be paying for it and they'll choose who to purchase your training from. Ultimately this comes out of your salary in case you don't understand how employers pass on the cost of this kind of thing. And be thankful that after adhering to your teachings and politics, your kids tuition costs for antiracist training will likely be double what you now pay. Move forward indeed!Race is another fraught subject that almost everyone gets wrong to a degree.

Did you do that? Pay $10k to pay some DEI instructor to come to dinner and tell you that you're a racist all evening?

Is there any chance this movie will be up for an Old South Academy Award?

No, that's what the democrat women in the movie "Am I racist did." How do you think Matt Walsh was able to interview them without being recognized?Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 2:31 amDid you do that? am I racist are words that read like a question. Why would someone ask such a question?

I'm finally watching the movie. My daughter and I are in the theatre now.
