Speaking of Inflation

Post by Doctor CamNC4Me »

This is Trump’s “plan”:
Trump has suggested at several rallies and public appearances that he would impose a 200% tariff on imported goods.

Economists say this would result in jacking up prices for consumers, however Trump refuted the economic theory.

"No it's not - no no," he said. "It's gotta be passed on somehow."

He also suggested his remarks are theoretical, harkening back to his remarks during the September debate with Harris on CNN that he has "concepts of a plan."

"I'm using 200 percent tariffs just as a figure of speech," he added. "Well I'll say 100, 200, I'll say 500. I don't care."
“I don’t care.”

According to Veritas inflation is good for the masses that live in debt. According to you inflation comes from corporate greed, not presidential policies and platforms. And if you've got beans and rice after working 70 hour weeks, you've got nothing to complain about. Or that inflation is less than wage gains and Biden isn't getting credit for creating a great economy.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

What do you think about 500% tariffs?

And it is. And according to the orange idiot, tariffs are paid by China into our pool of tax revenues. In reality China doesn't pay tariffs, the American importers do, and when they do, the American consumers effectively pay a sales tax. Chins is laughing its ass off every time Trump goes on television bragging about how he's making them pay us "billions." They're not paying anything, and any economist worth a damn understands this. But Trump plays to his idiot base who believe anything he says. You're all ignorant as all get out.

No, inflation is a product of demand outpacing supply. Without exception, this has been true throughout our economic history. Corporate greed shouldn't have anything to do with it but it does, and this has already been proven beyond any doubt. But of course, you will choose to ignore the data because it waters down one of your favorite talking points trying to pin global inflation on Biden. Inflation started well before Biden even got elected, let alone took office. It just took some time before it began to

And if you've got beans and rice after working 70 hour weeks, you've got nothing to complain about. Or that inflation is less than wage gains and Biden isn't getting credit for creating a great economy.
Wages have outpaced inflation for nearly two years straight after Biden passed the inflation reduction act. Stop pretending you care about wages or poor people. The fact is we're just about broken even since Biden took office, in terms of the disparity between wages and inflation. And now gas is under $3 in most states, and people are still making $20/hr at McDonalds when it was at best starting at $10 under Trump.

In terms of oversupply of money:

Wage growth for poorer people had been outpacing inflation since the beginning:

Remember that time prior to the pandemic, American farmers were going bankrupt at a record pace during Trump, and because of Trump's trade war?

Trump oversaw a record number of bankruptcies for US oil and gas companies. More than 100 filed during his tenure. Our largest refinery in Texas was also sold to the Saudis under Trump's watch. So much for "America first."

Good thing we elected a Democrat to come clean up the mess, as usual:

Do you ever wonder why global supply of crude had a difficult time catching up post-pandemic to the abundant demand created by the Biden recovery?
