Granted Biden/Harris did open the border by executive order. Harris herself said we can't just arrest people for entering the country illegally. All they have to do is get one foot on American soil and we're stuck paying, court costs, food stamps, medicaid, WIC, etc for up to five years until we hear the case. What other country on earth does this? This border bill did nothing to enforce the border and Democrats clearly want and have implemented open borders. According to Nancy Pelosi, walls are immoral. If you want to make it so they're illegal, then this requires action by Congress which is what the bi-partisan bill would have accomplished by making it far less likely people could claim asylum or remain so long in the country during their legal process.
