I don't think anyone here is trying to change his vote. At least, I'm not. I have no illusions Trump supporters can be persuaded by facts, logic, or the shame a mature adult would have in the same situation. They are only influenced by their selfish reptilian brain.

Naturally, there was tons of outrage from MAGA when Trump said this, because calling people garbage because of who they support in politics is bad. Just having a little bit of trouble finding the outrage right now, but I know it's, like, totally there.

The sentence you cite, to the exclusion of everything else Biden said, immediately follows his reaction to the Trump supporter who called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. Given the fact that Puerto Rico is literally not composed of garbage, what is this “garbage” that this Trump supporter who was an official speaker at a Trump campaign event was talking about? It’s clear that Biden thought that the speaking were describing human beings as garbage. And, frankly, I can’t find any sort of plausible interpretation otherwise. And Biden was about as worked up about the idea of calling American citizens “garbage” as Biden ever gets (at least publicly). He finds that idea so repugnant that he struggles to put together a sentence that communicates the strength of his condemnation of the dehumanization in that Trump supporters statement.

And now, I suppose I am going to be kind of a prick. Given all of that context, given the complete absence of Ceeboo from the conversation, what you choose to hear is “Ceeboo is garbage.” And that choice lets you off the hook for choosing to vote for a candidate that engages in non-stop dehumanization of ordinary folks like you and me.

This point is fair and you’re not being a prick for using the example.

in my opinion, Ceeboo has to jump through quite a few mental hoops to claim what he does. Because, in fact, Ceeboo has already been called ‘garbage’ by his own candidate:

“We’re a dumping ground. We’re like a garbage can for the world. That’s what’s happened. Every time I come up and talk about what they’ve done to our country I get angry and angrier. First time I’ve ever said garbage can. But you know what? It’s a very accurate description.”

If Trump labels the nation as a garbage can or dumping ground during comments on immigration, how are we to determine who he is referring to specifically? Per ceeboolean algebra (term is patent-pending; users must forward a small fee to both myself and Ceeboo), Ceeboo must be (1) as offended by this remark as he is of Biden’s, given Trump’s lack of specificity, while simultaneously being (2) completely dismissive of the fact that Trump has called between 20 million (Cebboo’s illegal immigrant count) and 340 million (US population) people ‘garbage’.

That’s why I said earlier that Ceeb’s stand was posturing. There is no consistency to his surgically-selective umbrage. And given that he can both read and hear, he can’t ignore that inconsistency and his subsequent selective reactions without knowing that it is, by nature, disingenuous.

Joe definitely fell into the typical bully trap and made a strategic mistake, and that's about all, but it's a lot just before an election. A bully says, "you people over there are garbage." The well-meaning retort by the guy trying to be nice and protect the people over there goes, "the only people who are garbage are the ones who just called those people over there minding their own business, garbage."

Did Biden, though?

Biden said a sentence on a tape. Here are two reasonable possible transcriptions that sound identical:

1. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.

2. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters’.

You cannot tell from the tape which is correct. Ceeboo had to choose. But I doubt he experienced his interpretation as a choice because his source chose for him and told him what Biden meant. The title of the video is the source of Ceeboo’s interpretation.

I cannot stress enough that it is impossible tell whether 1. or 2. is correct from watching and listening to Biden say that sentence in the tape. If you refuse to consider context, all you’ve got is pre-existing bias.

The indisputable reality is that you can’t tell from the sentence Biden said on the tape whether or not there should be an apostrophe after the s in “supporters.” The pronunciation is identical.

Yet this supposed very serious Person charged with governing America not only claims that up is down, he is launching a taxpayer funded investigation into an apostrophe.

Seriously. This bat-crap lunacy is what passes for governance of a country in MAGA world.

Keep in mind that This is the lunatic wing of the R party that declared that they were going to impeach Joe Biden for something. Anything. Who cares why, but they were going to darn sure do it. And they spent millions of taxpayer dollars trying to prove what they already were sure of, that Joe Biden was on the take from Ukraine, or China, well maybe that brother in law he lent money to for a car purchase. It really didn’t matter because they just knew he was corrupt.

And then they weren’t willing to even submit and vote on articles of impeachment because assertions, no matter how loudly and seriously uttered aren’t actual evidence. They knew they would lose because a handful of Republicans finally couldn’t stomach the perpetual clown show.

I just looked up the video, and it appeared to me like he was referencing the garbage supporters at the MSG event. So I looked it up, and sure enough Biden clarified with this:

You make a good point, and yes, obviously, the worst is going to be assumed.

I don't mind conceding this one though. The way I see it, if you're going to say something provocative at all, then you've got to be very careful about misunderstandings and take responsibility for the ways you can be misunderstood. Especially when the target is MAGA. It was a tactical mistake in my opinion for him to respond like that.

Trump sues CBS for 10 Billion Dollars

Trump has begun the first of his multiple attacks on America by suing CBS News for 10 Billion dollars over the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. Previously he said he would revoke the CBS broadcast license. Trump first began by judge shopping in Texas.
