Asking for assistance doesn't automatically imply he is asking for financial assistance. At the end of the day Ceeboo happily supports a rapist, a felon, and a fascist who has said he wants to cripple bedrock of our democracy and recreate the country in his own image. And that's OK, because it means Democrats go to jail and minorities get rounded up and deported by the millions. We were told it had incriminating evidence and emails proving Joe Biden was on the take with China. We were told it had incriminating evidence proving Hunter Biden was involved in a prostitution ring. The "stories" that the Right pushed so hard were in fact unsubstantiated. The letter stated clearly that it concerned the content and potential source of alleged emails allegedly on the laptop. Read it at the link above.

What is misleading are claims that the letter says anything about who owns any laptop. Those latter claims came from right-wing media and are still made at rallies now by Trump. Those claims are intentionally misleading and untrue.

Collude implies unlawful. There does not appear to be anything unlawful about any government agency merely asking a media company to verify a story before allowing bad actors to use a private platform to spread disinformation on an exponentially-increasing scale.

Forensic analysis done on the contents have shown that there was access and files from people other than Hunter Biden. One of the "smoking gun" emails could not be verified to be legitimate. They could verify some of the emails though, but they were mundane. They even found content that was from after the laptop was supposedly left for repair and content from after NY Post story ran. Where did this content come from? Obviously Hunter Biden wasn't still writing things to the hard disk. There is no question that it contained content from Hunter Biden, but there is concern of the legitimacy of the data and how much was Hunter Biden's mixed in with some other stuff, or his stuff tweaked.
