Pragmatism is about considering how to win in the world that exists. Not about how to win in the world you wished existed. Some Schmo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:29 pmThe winning strategy seems to be to appeal to morons. I understand why the DNC is having a hard time with that. They don't have a spokesperson who whines like a toddler.
Tell me, you think the GOP has a winning strategy (rather than just lying about everything and relying on the right wing media machine)? And if so, why does it work on the American electorate?
Sorry man, but Americans just elected a known felon, a serial rapist, and a complete damned moron. Don't pretend this is about strategy. This is about ubiquitous American ignorance.

We very much do. Years ago, when I was in grad school in psychology, I had a mentor who used to say "We love the rut we're in." By this, he meant that we will generally do everything we can to maintain and protect the very things that are destroying us.
As a nation, we're guilty of this. Both of our political parties are certainly guilty of this. I wonder how big of a disaster it will take for us to reevaluate and change.

John Stewart has been desperately trying to bring the Democrats back to reality. Because he realizes that if nothing changes, we will be ruled by the Bro Elites Elon, Rogan, and Thiel. That will be an absolute dystopian nightmare that Trump couldn’t even dream of.

It's probably too early to discuss this issue here, but, I agree that the democrats need to have something other than anti-Trump rhetoric. It obviously didn't work. Maybe take a look at why Sanders was so popular until the democratic party establishment squelched his 2016 and 2020 campaigns.drumdude wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:42 pmJohn Stewart has been desperately trying to bring the Democrats back to reality. Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

It was because he was against elites. He was actually for the middle class.
All the democrats need to do is make this a class issue, not a race or gender issue.

Only if you prefer that Russia doesn’t end up controlling more worldwide energy and food resources through killing a few million more people.

Oh, I get that.
So yeah, the Democrats need to get to work and figure how to appeal to damned idiots, because that's where they're losing.
