Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which will eliminate much of the federal government and federal spending. I take that to mean Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Food Stamps. This will include removing business and safety regulations and instituting tax cuts for the wealthy.

Also, Trump said he was going to get rid of the Department of Education. How would that transform education in the United States? Would Florida opt for ending education in the 6th grade?

It administers federal grant programs, including the $18.4 billion Title I program that provides supplemental funding to high-poverty K-12 schools, as well as the $15.5 billion program that helps cover the cost of education for students with disabilities. The department oversees the $1.6 trillion federal student loan program and sets rules for what colleges must do to participate.

He’s going to take money from the poor and give it to the wealthy by way of tax breaks.

Your economy performed at a similar rate over the last two Presidential terms. That’s Trump & Biden. Republican & Democrat. How will you blame the Democrats for the economic performance in four years time?
The same way Democrats blamed Trump for inflation.
Ah, you’re just a tribal flag waver rather than actually wanting things to improve. What would Trump need to do for you to not vote for him? (Assuming there is something he could do that you’d not swallow whole).

Those running in the general election weren't exactly ever competing for my vote. I'm among the basket of depolorables (Hillary Clinton), human garbage (Biden), bitter clinger (Obama) that Democrat candidates hate.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Oof, this thread should've died by Nov 7th, but the TDS denial stage persists among the faithful, eh.

As the old saying goes, the guilty taketh the truth to be hard.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

Context:

We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?

The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now how 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America. But the other basket — and I know this because I see friends from all over America here — I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they’re just desperate for change. It doesn’t really even matter where it comes from. They don’t buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won’t wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroine, feel like they’re in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.”

People will freely decide to separate themselves into one or the other basket as they see fit.

Yes, all is well, thank you and likewise. I see the clown car is still at the mechanic's garage. On a good note, the sweet taste of liberal tears is on the palette once again.

After near-four years of sobbing MAGA hysterics over ‘stolen elections’, a menu change was probably inevitable. : D

Now that the dog has caught the car, I’ve pulled up a seat for the show.
