Re: NBC news story on Hunter Biden
I do not currently have solar, my energy plan however is 100% renewable based. I live in Texas and purchase a plan that renewable based.
China is the largest emitter of greenhouse gasses currently. A large portion of that is producing products for the American market. We are exporting our pollution.
They will not be for long. They are well on their path towards their goal of 85% renewable based energy and their vehicle fleet is increasingly ev. A decade+ back China's government realized being the largest greenhouse gas emitter was not a place they wanted to be for long, and so they have invested more on green energy than any other nation. By most projections they have peaked and are on the downslope side of the curve.
They are the world thought and technology leaders currently for green energy and evs. The world market is increasingly moving that direction and we are stagnating.

And now the incoming Administration can ramp up tariffs again to throttle the last bit of life out of the US solar industry.¥akaSteelhead wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:52 pmMeanwhile China is doubling their utilization of solar yearly, leads the world in green technology, leads the world in auto exports, leads the world in ev tech and sales, and will be 85% green energy for their power grids by 2040.
While we fiddle.

How so....?
Currently how many square feet is your home, what is the current amperage for your service panel? What is the energy source of your water heater, heaty/AC, stove/ oven, dryer, and any pool or sauna heating or cooling? In other words, is it all electric or fossil fuel based? What is this renewable based energy source and what options do you have by your local providers?
CFR what renewable base provides your utilizes in Texas?
I have solar panels, (20) of them. I have a natural gas heater, stove/oven. I have a natural gas dryer, I have futures for a spa and or pool, both soar based and natural gassed based. I currently upgraded from a 100 amp service panel to a 200 amp panel for those futures, all in expectance for solar and renewable futures . What have you done in these regards? Or are you just toeing party lines and living outside of what you preach. Why haven't you spent the 20 K or more to provide your home with solar energy....are you waiting for China to do it for you?

What American Markets? Are you asserting we are enforcing China to emit gross green house gases? If so, should we then manufacture here, with cleaner means and methods, other that farming out to a gross polluter , such as China? I would agree with that.China is the largest emitter of greenhouse gasses currently. A large portion of that is producing products for the American market. We are exporting our pollution.

Only on the calculator that we used to determine that the value proposition of a rooftop installation wouldn’t pan out.

Wind power is a hugely important component of Texas’s energy supply. If ALLCAPS is any indication, they’re possibly shouting from the rooftops about wind power in that state:
From: https://comptroller.texas.gov/economy/e ... d-snap.phpIN 2023, WIND REPRESENTED 28.6 PERCENT OF TEXAS ENERGY GENERATION, SECOND TO NATURAL GAS (41.8 PERCENT).
THERE ARE 239 WIND-RELATED PROJECTS IN TEXAS AND MORE THAN 15,300 WIND TURBINES, THE MOST OF ANY STATE.
TEXAS WIND POWER GENERATION SURPASSED THE STATE'S NUCLEAR GENERATION IN 2014 AND COAL-FIRED GENERATION IN 2020.
… which makes for some interesting reading.

And? What percentage of homes, and commercial properties in Texas are powered by wind?Wind power is a hugely important component of Texas’s energy supply. If ALLCAPS is any indication, they’re possibly shouting from the rooftops about wind powwr in that state:
Do you have solar power? Do you have all electrical home? If so why?

Re: NBC news story on Hunter Biden
Texas is a different kind of energy market than most states. In the majority of the state you pick a plan from various available and contract for a time period at a certain rate from the energy company. Most customers are not locked into a single provider, meaning they can contract from energy companies that have different offerings. There are pros and cons to way the Texas grid operates. It has generally low rates, but has problems at time ensuring grid reliability.
My contracts for the last several years have been plans that are renewable based. I pay about 1 cent more a kwh for a plan that is 100% renewable based than for one that isn't. My provider buys energy off of the Ercot market place from producers that are renewable based. Does that mean the electrons flowing into my house are 100% guaranteed to be from a wind farm? Of course not. It means out of the pool of electricity being produced and transmitter around the state somewhere wind power produced energy that was put on the grid and sold on the market sufficient to meet the long term and short term purchases from my energy company.
