Not a Mormon or exmormon woman mentioned. Not surprising.

These top-ten awards are yet another example of the same old Mormon pattern. Yes, even in their beautifully summarized display of that pattern, they also exemplify the pattern. This isn’t ironic — it’s typical.
What Mopologetic Happening enacted by a woman do you think should have been included?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Indeed! This is like asking why there wasn’t a woman on the top ten list of genocidal maniacs. Not that I am comparing Mopologists to genocidal maniacs, but it is really the kind of list that, for the most part, few people want to be on. Of course, I don’t mind my honorable mention! ;-)

But I kid because I love. I want Rosebud’s Top Ten list with all of the noteworthy events of her choosing. One can complain, and that is cool, but maybe doing something about it is even better than carping at others.

As for Midsommer, I don’t think it accurately represents all of Mormonism. There are many good, religious people on the fringe edges who aren’t deep enough to be lost in the inner cults of Mormonism. These good people practice their religion with honesty and live good lives, unaware of how sex and money are used at the center of Mormonism.

But as for me, Midsommer was so Mormon I had a trauma reaction watching it — a trauma reaction related to what I experienced as a child growing up close to Mormonism’s sex and Money power center, including, importantly, the role exMormonism played in that center. Midsommer does, very accurately, display what is real for those of us born too close to the middle of what Joseph Smith Jr. began: the sex, the money, the exploitations, and the value of the Mormon vs. exMormon bull fights in the coverup.

I think it would be positive (and wise) for the Mormon and exMormon men who might be lucky enough to have been born a little further out on the fringes to stop bull fighting and start listening to the perspectives the few of the other 50% who have the information, the ability to speak, and who are willing to do so. The coverup strategies are very powerful; there are very few among us who survive well enough to meet the criteria necessary for speaking.
There’s plenty of great stuff in this post. Makes me happy Rosebud sticks around at this insignificant sausage party that happens to have very strong women posting in it.

Haha…. Not as I wrote it, but I considered adding that parenthetically before I posted…

I hope that many readers have had the opportunity to move beyond the ideas that were thrust upon most all of us (men and women) sexually in Mormonism… and found what’s better for them. The system protecting the inner power circles has had so many devastating consequences on the lives of many, including those who grew up in the fringes.

And there is so much that is good within healthier communities that aren’t facing what many of us faced.

Provide an example you think should be included, [real name deleted].

Good Lord! I feel like I'm reading Rosebud's sexually explicit texts to John Dehlin all over again.

I don't know what your point was. You seemed to be saying that Doctor Scratch's Top Ten happenings list was an example of male unrighteousness dominion. It's not the list that has the problem you seem to be trying to identify, it's Mopologetics. In which case, why don't you take that fight up with Interpreter, Scripture Central, Fair etc?

You could run my post through ChatGPT for a bullet point list of my main points and which of my points your question speaks to if that would help. My guess is that she wound be great at that task.

You pose a pertinent and important question. If at all possible, it would be valuable for you to be able to understand the implications of your question. I find that comprehending the implications of questions is often the most important reason to ask them.
