Advice for the Spiritually Callow and the Mendicant Pundits

Post by 7bellyofenoch7 »

there are three points of light in the world starting with the city of the jebusites with its dead sea rhacotis with its mediterranean port and provo with its utah lake plotinus knew this when he was taken in ecstatic raptures and became unified with the one and the failure of porphyry was not to foresee the the spiritual successors of the jaredites and nephites founding the kingdom of the one across the ocean of the phoenicians as evidenced by the stone of bat creek

the same emanations known to plotinus inspired the forty two volumes of the blessed and wise hermes trismegistus who also modified the book of abraham with seventeen holy emendations the following diary comes from one destined for the third heaven

from the motherly bosom of provo came jaxon al-americani ibn nachman ibn shez may his wisdom be on the lips of the pious forevermore

Preface to the Reader

Post by 7bellyofenoch7 »

I first encountered Jaxon when he started to attend my singles ward near a midwestern university. He stood out to me because of his disheveled appearance and lack of hygiene. As his Bishop I pulled him aside after a sacrament meeting to ask him why his hair was unkempt and why his fingernails were so long and his startling answer was that he had privately taken the Nazarite vow. We began to converse weekly after that encounter as I sensed the young man did not have many friends and thought he needed some guidance.

Over time I learned that Jaxon was a student and he had become obsessed with strange religious practices and ideas. Eventually he shared some of his writing with me and I thought it strikingly coherent, but Jaxon disappeared shortly thereafter and I haven’t been able to track him down.

I thought his ideas might have some merit and shared parts of his journal with a fellow called Wiki Wonka who is well known in certain circles. Wiki Wonka remarked that Jaxon did have some spiritual insights, but the work was largely unusable by FAIR. Next I tried my fellow kayak enthusiast Wade Englund who deemed the entire work unreadable and suggested I take it to an expert next and gave me D.C. Peterson’s contact information. Given his historic participation in the Brian Mitchell trial by lending his religious expertise I thought this was an excellent course of action. Regrettably, Peterson never responded to my numerous enquiries.

My next point of contact was a certain medical professional who is publicly associated with the same kind of apologetics that Jaxon was involved in. This professional (I’ll only identify him as G.L S.) speculated that Jaxon suffered from schizotypal personality disorder, but could offer no further insight.

Just before coming to the decision to share some of Jaxon’s writings on a public Google Drive, I asked John Gee to take a look at some of his diary entries, but Gee insisted that I first pass an examination on Egyptian Hieroglyphics before granting me an appointment. I am just a humble accountant and I know a deadend when I see one.

I share this in the hopes that one day Jaxon will reappear. If someone should ever encounter Jaxon,I warn you that he often insisted that he be addressed by his full name: Jaxon Al-Americani ibn Nachman ibn Shez.

Wherever Jaxon is today, I hope he is safe.

Brother Glenn.

I feel uneasy about beginning a project such as this. I’m not sure why keeping two sets of journals feels duplicitous in nature given my upbringing and the education I received from both the CES and BYU. To be a Latter Day Saint in this dispensation of things is to live in a fishbowl; actions and intentions forever scrutinized by both the world and by the priesthoods. This is the burden we Saints must bear, why else would we point to the square or swear sacred oaths for the purpose of entering into holy covenants? “Trust the Plan!” as Bishop Barley used to say at camporees. I do trust the plan and l look forward to the happiness it rewards.

Only through repeated mistakes have I slowly learned to live two parallel lives. The first lesson occurred during my uneventful puberty with a confession of masturbation and the fallout it caused. Perhaps the cruelest lesson came as I was growing into my own priesthood; I’ll never forget the humiliation served to me by President Huxley during my mission in Switzerland. Who knew that carrying a Peshitta and using it to absolutely dominate unsuspecting pastors during impromptu debates was frowned upon? Even now as I type these words I can feel the sting of his proclamation that my choice of employing Syriac scriptures was “unnecessary” and his raking rebuke that my conduct was “prideful”.

A heavenly hope still stirs within my breast that one day President Huxley will acknowledge his error in being unable to spiritually discern my true calling as an anointed Apologist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I promise that should such a day come that not only will I give President Huxley the absolution he seeks, but I shall even sit him down and wash his feet in the pure humility that resides in the marrow of every Apologist. Everyone has a place by our side, especially those who once stood against us.

All the more reason I should fortify my mind. I no longer walk in Zion but instead tread upon the sands of Higher Education. One can not simply be an Apologist by declaring yourself as one, credentialing is vital for respect among one’s peers. So I have come to modern day Gomorrah seeking instruction from literary lesbians who are no doubt both tightfisted and childless and to endure the lurid historical speculations of fae pansexuals, as described to me by the towering legend himself, John Gee.

Contending with such principalities will not be without consequences and I thought it most prudent to keep this journal whereupon I can spill the debauched iniquity I’m sure to encounter. Naturally I will be keeping another journal for more pious eyes, perhaps that journal will someday be interred at the Maxwell Institute along with the rest of my papers?

It's becoming more coherent and cogent, it's beginning to learn what the forum is about. This generative A.I. stuff is really creepy.

Seems scary to me. Combining LDS apologetics with artificial intelligence. Who knows what deviltry it will come up with? Dual ledgers sound like a combo of BYU accounting secrets and Louis Midgley dossiers. Could the suggested Principalities be Drs. Scratch, Gadianton, and Kishkumen?

Moksha: "Combining LDS apologetics with artificial intelligence." Joseph Smith already did that.... it's artificial to the core. :D

Today I spent around 13 hours on the road and to keep myself focused and alert, I decided to engage in a time honored practice of the “OPPODUMP” or for the uninitiated, “ Opposition Dump”. This is the apologetic practice of immersing yourself fully in the works of the enemy for purposes of finding flaws and weaknesses that can be exploited for apologetic victories. Divine providence led me to volunteer with FAIR when I returned from my mission and I was carefully instructed in the practice. The most instructive example I’ve ever seen of the OPPODUMP being put to profitable use is when the righteous men of SHIELDS exposed that lurid hyper-calvinist James White for having bogus degrees from a disgraceful diploma mill. Bringing the unruly pretenders to heel is something every anointed Apologist should take delight in.

I selected John Dehlin as my subject for this OPPODUMP because finding 13 hours of audio material can be done with ease. Narcissists can hardly keep away from a camera or microphone and will never miss an opportunity to inject themselves into any discourse. One cannot go an hour listening to Dehlin and not come away with the conviction that his hatred for the Church is simply pathological. Dehlin and his ilk are a living embodiment of those who God was speaking about in D&C 121:

God hath set his hand and seal to change the times and seasons, and to blind their minds, that they may not understand his marvelous workings; that he may prove them also and take them in their own craftiness

The spiritual reality is that men and women like Dehlin are epistemically compromised. Those who stand against the Saints and oppose the growth of our Church are divinely stricken with an inability to reason properly. If they persist in this manner for long enough, they will truly become the sons and daughters of Perdition.

Now that I’ve had a moment to reflect, I wonder how I can put that spiritual reality to a righteous use in my apologetical practice. How does one reason with those that, in principle, cannot reason? Surely this gives me an advantage, but how to exploit it in such a way that it edifies those who witness it?

I’ll have to explore those questions at a later time, but it is time to stop for the night and rest. Tomorrow I’ll arrive at my new accommodations and begin preparing for my first semester.

This has some wonderful Hills like White Lamanites vibes. But possibly from the faithful satirical perspective, rather than the critical one.

I'm excited to see how this plays out!
