Re: PFLDO founding chapter (drones)
He might just surprise you and do it, considering as you pointed elsewhere he's embracing all pseudoscience at this point. It is a little surprising how ahead of the curve he's been about it, and the greys really are missing out if they let him go unabducted.
Mormons have long been influenced by politics, self-help, pseudoscience and the panics that spread through Christian communities. I don't know how things are now, they seem to be loosening, but back then they were quite oblivious to the fact that they were being influenced. With very few exceptions did they acknowledge a source that wasn't Mormon. If everyone was worried about Ouija boards during a given year, the worry that spread to the Mormon community would not have been understood to originate elsewhere. If a Mormon were to hear about a Baptist minister preaching a sermon warning of Ouija boards, the Mormon may very well suspect the minister of secretly owning one and consulting it.
In that way, it's very unique of Dan to have always been so openly interested in pseudoscience. There is good reason for it. There just isn't enough material to keep UFO conferences continuously burning, and so it makes sense to combine efforts. If I want you to believe my theory, then I've got to believe your theory. If I have a YouTube channel on UAPs, I'm almost certainly going to need to get into ghosts, remote viewing, and prophecy, and possibly zero-point energy in order to grow the channel. Look at poor Mick West. He's the single most hated person on the Internet by UAP buffs but thereby the baseline for the skeptical position, will occasionally be acknowledged by some of the enthusiasts for being right, and he's only got 30k subs.
So DCP is right to embrace pseudoscience but -- he's tone deaf. He's an elitist and has no talent whatsoever for stepping into the sea of unhinged populism and diverting some of that force toward his own pet theory. Brandon Fugal has done far more for advancing Mormonism to the market DCP is trying -- perhaps unwittingly? -- to tap into. Travis Taylor himself has suggested publicly that Joseph Smith saw an alien. Say what you will about the guy, but he has multiple doctorate degrees, and so he may very well be the first instance of an academic with a Phd who isn't a Mormon to publicly admit there is truth to the first vision and gold plates.

Re: PFLDO founding chapter (drones)
The drone situation is developing into a huge scandal, and I have to say, if Biden weren't out the door next month, this could easily have become an election issue. The lines of division are drawing between "the authorities" who are denying everything, and "the people" who are being lied to. Indeed, in today's hypersensitive post-truth world, the authorities would do well to sound less dismissive of the public's intelligence, even if, you know, it's justified. And mayors and congress people are jumping right in, demanding answers from the authorities -- that is, authorities other than themselves, it's the other guy's fault!
This guy had a good suggestion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBRdMwS-EKU
He points to Archer aviation, a government contractor, who has drones that fit the bill. Bloomberg reached out and got a "no comment". According to TK, if the manufacturer has a contract with a government SAP, they don't need to register with the FAA. Again: more problems with knowing what to know. When the SR-71 was tested, which authorities do you think the pilots needed to answer to should the situation arise? If a regular joe spotted an SR-71 in a test flight, who was to provide him answers?
In other news, two small drone operators have been arrested:
https://6abc.com/post/2-arrested-after- ... /15659754/
The PFLDO conveys its sympathies to small drone operators who will be the first victims of government overreach that's in the works thanks largely to the post-truth public. The post-truth public is of course, mad as hell about this saying, "We didn't mean those guys, we meant the people flying the balls of energy that transform into large drones that are impossible to pursue!"
Let me just inform everyone out there demanding justice for the other guy: LE always goes after low hanging fruit.

Re: PFLDO founding chapter (drones)
And Biden/Harris could not beat him? Hillary could beat him. And it took covid and lie after lie to beat him in 2020.
Lol...I think it is funny, and certainly Trump. like I wrote you will have 4 year to bash him and in the end we will see whether he was effective or not. It is obvious that after 4 years Biden, as Obama said in the past...."screwed it up.

More to the point, he called for the drones to be shot down. This was a couple days ago. The right-leaning post-truth folks outraged over the lack of government response are looking to Trump for answers. One pro-gun CC noted that the country might not last until Trump is sworn in.Canpakes wrote:Yes, he really posted that.
I will agree with Mark that Trump calling for them to be shot down is a smart messaging move, because it shows "I'm one of you!" and the whole UFC tough guy thing. Well, this drama may be going on until after he's sworn in, and so we'll see if he's able to get them shot down or otherwise get to the bottom of the mystery.

What are you going on about here? This is the drone thread. : D
Markk: “The government isn’t serious! And all y’all’s are trying to dumb down the concerns of the people of New Jersey ..!!”Lol...I think it is funny, and certainly Trump. like I wrote you will have 4 year to bash him and in the end we will see whether he was effective or not. canpakes: :: posts actual social media post by Trump ridiculing the situation ::
Markk: “Ahhhaha! lol! Trump’s so funny! What a hoot!”

Re: PFLDO founding chapter (drones)
Lots of drone experts weighing in who seem decently credible and no consistent answers. Some see no evidence whatsoever for large drones, others do, but it's a minority of cases. Lots of truthers out there setting up cameras and flying up their own drones, putting hours and days into sky watching, and so far, for all the thousands and thousands of people who are constantly reporting, none of these folks are catching anything. I guess it feels different if you talk yourself down from the outrageous to the mundane because you're the one pointing the camera and don't want to look like an idiot. "Yep, that's a plane." "Oh crap, that's an e-bike headlight!" But if a government official says it, they're disrespecting the peoples' intelligence.
More suggestions from the patriots of the Right:
Another disturbing development is the use of lasers. Apparently, in South America somewhere a few years ago, a police drone was taken down by an army of laser wielders by presumably interfering with the electronics. A small plane pilot got lasered yesterday over New Jersey.
A subplot of the drone story is the crash retrievals. If there's a gathering of cop cars and an ambulance, it may be a downed drone. With the number of small civilian drones launching to join in on the mischief or to investigate, I'm sure there are some drone crashes given it's all happening at night. It's a little harder to believe that extraterrestrial drones or black op military drones that cost hundreds of thousands or more go down so frequently.
More suggestions from the patriots of the Right:
So yeah, a missile system that can pinpoint anything from 1 pound drones in the sky to hypersonic missiles over 3.8 million square miles vs. the 600 square miles that Israel defends with their system. New Jersey alone is virtually 9,000 square miles. In addition to a 2,000 mile wall and deporting 20 million people, why not add this to emergency defense spending? Maybe scrap all three and provide healthcare instead?Mike Waltz wrote:"We need to take a hard look at our homeland defenses. President Trump has talked about an iron dome for America that needs to include drones as well, not just adversarial actions like hypersonic missiles. We need to have an all-of-the-above protection of U.S. airspace,"

Those flat earthers, man, they're so gullible. The world is obviously not two-dimensional.
It's one-dimensional, duh. That's why you only have eyes in the front of your face. If "left" and "right" really existed, God would have given us eyes on the sides of our heads, if we had "sides".
See the truth that is right in front of you, people! Join me, follow me, as we move forward, not sideways. Just don't follow too close, now, and bump me.
