No states are without problems, but it has long been clear that by most measures, blue states, on average, are doing better than red states. Why are so many people unaware of this? Blue states, unlike most red states, contribute more revenue to the government than they receive from it. Without the surplus from blue states coming to them, most red states would be on the verge of financial collapse.

They have lower median incomes than blue states due to comparative lack of unionization, lower average educational levels, lower average healthcare levels and life expectancies, and higher infant and maternal death rates because draconian restrictions on women's healthcare in general, not just abortion restrictions. Ob/gyn doctors and care specialists are leaving or refusing to move to red states because they are terrified of being prosecuted, fined or imprisoned in some cases for merely trying to provide what they know is best medical, and sometimes life-saving care for their female patients.

In the more extreme states, a woman can be prosecuted and going to prison merely for having a miscarriage, which occurs in up to 25% or more of all normal pregnancies, sometimes before the woman even knows she was pregnant.

Medically and biologically ignorant politicians should have no say on women's or anyone else's health issues. Women and their qualified doctors deserve to be the sole arbiters concerning their medical care, including whether or not to have an abortion.
