I think that gives them a little more credibility.
One of DCP's points critical of Islam is that there's never been a reformation. A reformation will never happen if Muslims must follow the same rules Dan has laid out for Mormons when speaking about Mormonism.

An individual communication with God is an entirely different thing than millions of people praying "Peace be unto you, O prophet" during salat.
Actually, it's not.
Actually, it is.

In the first scenario, the individual is communicating with God - In the second scenario, the group of people are communicating with Muhammed. See the difference?
I mean 'offensive' in that it's as if you just walked into a posh dinner party smeared head to toe in cow dung.
I was wondering when you were going to play the old "smeared in cow dung at a posh dinner party" card.
What you've said is just plain stupid.
It appears that most (all?) of the folks who have participated in this thread, as well as a very famous Mormon blogger, agrees with you.

I really tried to keep it in check, but you know me: It had to eventually come out.

...Lastly, I am a bit curious/perplexed over this seeming concern over offending Muslims. Given the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of times that I have read highly negative/offensive things on this board about Christians and/or the Bible that have had extremely little push back (other than from Christians). Have you found any of this offensive as well? If so, have you posted your challenge/protest?
It seems your reason was not so much challenging beliefs about prayer and Muhammad as it was setting up an example where you tried to catch readers here in what you see as a discrepancy. Was that your intent all along?
It seems pretty clear that was your intent. Trolling seems unworthy of you, given some things you've said here recently, but, here we are.

I’ve read some astonishing claims that have been advanced
Muslims worship Muhammad.
Muslims do worship (a.k.a. pray to) Muhammad - they do this five times a day.
Muslim do not worship Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him). We worship only Allah (Exalted is He).

People reading along know that, but thank you for reinforcing it. Even ceeboo was purposefully presenting the opposite argument offensively, in his attempt to show that (in his opinion, and ONLY in his opinion) christians are not defended here against similarly offensive statements. He admitted as much here:

People here may disagree with the beliefs of some or all Christians, or even mock those beliefs, but that's not the same as getting the beliefs wrong. The problem with ceeboo's statement about Muslims worshipping Muhammad was never that the statement was offensive to Muslims. The problem with the statement is that it is wrong. Whatever else Muslims do or don't do, they do not worship Muhammad.

Perhaps Niblo or any other Muslim can correct me if I am wrong, but my impression is that Islam is more about only worshipping God than it is about anything else. So regardless of how offensive it may or may not be, to say that Muslims worship Muhammad, I think it's a pretty big and basic mistake about Islam.

Agree, absolutely.

To clarify, in my opinion, ceeboo was taking offense that in my opinion wasn't there, so he presented a statement that in my opinion HE thought might similarly offend, which is how we ended up with a topic based on an incorrect understanding that ceeboo refused to let go of until someone played "the old 'smeared in cow dung at a posh dinner party' card" as our dear ceeboo put it.

(This is why late night discussion sessions here at Cassius should always eventually end up in the cafeteria. It's very homey and has a fireplace. Also, the resulting food fight is much easier to clean up and visiting professors can deny all culpability.)

Was this when Lars Nielsen and Dan Vogel wrested out behind Romney Manor in Park City? I thought FAIR agreed to keep the cow tied up behind the dressage pony barn!!!
