I'll probably spend the day crafting and reading my new Pacino book.
When you say "Pacino book," do you mean by Al, or about Al?

By Al! It's his memoir...Sonny Boy: A Memoir. It's so stinking good!

SOOooo good! And written by Alfredo James himself! Christmas gift from one of the offspring. Love it!

And see that's not unlike my own experience. What is the profit to us when our thoughts become so negative and contentious? We might not voice our opinions but the Lord knows what we're experiencing inwardly so how is that beneficial to us? How do we reflect the light of Christ when the light is so often being short circuited by those types of basically angry and disrespectful thoughts? I don't think it's possible or at least our ability to do so is diminished. I didn't want that kind of stuff living in my head any more. So I kicked it out. ;)
I couldn't agree with you more. Unity in the Elders Quorum was my first priority. If we leave a meeting and fail to focus on Christ, we've failed. I will add money to my list. I'm way too open about money in real life.
A great example is you and I. Not long ago I made a post for you about taking you off ignore. It was an impression that I had of you that led me to believe that you were leaning into your faith more these days. I had that impression by opening some of your posts so I could read them. We don't share the same views politically (just like hubs and myself) and even though we are from different religious "orientations", I can certainly identify with one turning to our Heavenly Father or perhaps making a return to our Heavenly Father. We see scripture in the Bible that talks about God turning his face to us. We don't talk much about turning OUR face back to him, do we? And yet when we do, we find that he's been there waiting for us the whole time and peace is restored in the process. I can relate to that. I've experienced that. That common ground is why I took you off ignore and I wish you well in your spiritual journey!
I am leaning into my faith again. I've been active for about 7 years now. I'm a high priest and the Elders Quorum President. I served as high priest in the Spanish ward and never felt so loved and uplifted. I'm taking Jesus's advice to not doubt but be believing and trust that keeping God's commandments are in my own best interest. And I've experienced improved health because of it.
Meanwhile, and I've said this before I am sure, I pray for every president. I will pray for this president as hard as it feels to find space for that in my heart, I still will do it and do my best to do it sincerely. I can't personally stand the man but how do I know if, when, or how the Lord might be working in his life?
That is admirable that you can pray for your enemies as Jesus asks us to. You really should read President Russell M. Nelson's book, "The heart of the Matter." Perhaps it has more to do with my attitude but I've never grown more spiritually than when he became prophet. He challenged my belief that happiness was for eternity but this world was for suffering. President Nelson believes that God wants us to be happy right now and Jesus Christ is the only source of real joy. I finally turned off Ben Shapiro and turned on this audiobook with a believing attitude. It changed my life. For me, President Nelson is our Lord Jesus Christ's prophet and perhaps called by God to speak to me and change my beliefs and my life.
God made us because he wanted us, he wanted us from the beginning and still does.
I love this. It's so true. God does want a relationship with us. We just have to be careful not to offend the spirit so that we can have that relationship.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

This is what I know about I-Day events.

It was held indoors due to cold temps.*
Melania wore a black and white outfit with a hat reminsicent of MJ's Smooth Criminal hat.
Trump did not put his hand on the Bible when sworn in.

He signed a crapton of executive order's today which I documented on my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=159412&p=2885149#p2885149

Carrie Underwood sang acapella while the Democrats all half heartedly sang along with sickenly sour faces. That part I SAW on some clip that I agreed to watch. Now I'm even sick of the Democrats for their massive stupidity. Does anyone in government know what their role is any more? They weren't supposed to be singing to celebrate Trump. They were supposed to sing to celebrate US so they essentially scowled up their faces and barely uttered the words to a song which was a direct insult to a majority of American voters. And...like it or not you sore losers, a majority of American voters DID vote for DJT so get off it and get over it. Buncha freaking babies.

And that, my friends, ends my interest in politics for the next 4 years.

You got the Jersey Devil, down and on the side. Pffft!

The lunatics are now running the asylum. American democracy has now ended as a government methodology. Good luck and God bless.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Possibly so. I'll be ignoring it. And thanks!

In four years time there won’t be a vote. It’ll be either a continuation of Trump, or a seamless transition of power to another within the Trump dynasty. America is now operating under the North Korean system of governance. Albeit with a white supremacist, fascist, underpinning. The Gulf Of America ffs <facepalm>

That's what everyone said the last time, and it didn't happen.

I might be wrong. But the early signs aren’t encouraging. And he certainly attempted it last time.
