I saw that series, but it was not, nor did the producers pretend that it was, an historically accurate portrayal of actual events. Did you see the discussion of that series in the Terrestrial Forum or on John Dehlin's Mormon Stories Podcast? I suspect that you probably did. Am I right?

For one thing, Fort Bridger was hundreds of miles away from the Mountain Meadow Massacre. Plus, Fort Bridger was bought by Brigham Young before the massacre, not afterwards, as portrayed in the series. So I don't know if the question of whether or not Brigham Young was a progressive for buying it is really relevant. Also, it is highly questionable whether Brigham Young was accurately portrayed in the series.
