PRESIDENT GEORGE Q. CANNON

Post by Shulem »

GEORGE Q. CANNON, (First Counselor in the First Presidency) EDITOR, THE JUVENILE INSTRUCTOR, OCTOBER 15. 1891 wrote:The Juvenile Instructor Wikipedia

The mark set upon Cain was without doubt such a mark as was placed upon the descendants of the rebellious sons of Lehi — Laman and Lemuel, and those who joined them. We are expressly informed that "the Lord did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them." They were to be made loathsome; to the people of God, unless they repented of their iniquities. Not only did this curse fall upon them, but all they who intermarried with them, or mingled with them, were cursed with the same blackness and loathsomeness; and the history of the Nephite people illustrates how literally this was fulfilled. A mark was set upon them, and they who mixed with them even marked themselves, as in the case of the Amlicites; for they, upon joining the Lamanites, marked themselves with red in their foreheads, after the manner of the Lamanites.

<snip>

From this it is very clear that the mark which was set upon the descendants of Cain was a skin of blackness, and there can be no doubt that this was the mark that Cain himself received; in fact, it has been noticed in our day that men who have lost the Spirit of the Lord, and from whom His blessings have been withdrawn, have turned dark to such an extent as to excite the comments of all who have known them.
The Mormon church today disavows the theories Teachings & Doctrines of the entire body of the church under the direction of the First Presidency of 1891. Mormons today have apostatized from Mormonism of old -- whether yesterday or today, it's another wretched and foul religion. Disgusting Mormons today love to lie. Lying to themselves is what keeps their testimonies alive. And those liars want you to pay 10% of your income to the Church and subject your children to being harassed and shamed by bishops asking probing questions about masturbation. The Mormon church is rotten to the core!

See how the Church today seeks to distance itself from the past in which it claims those leaders were moved by the same Spirit® that moves them today:
Race and the Priesthood wrote:Today, the Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. Church leaders today unequivocally condemn all racism, past and present, in any form.
Note - I do not apologize for my frankness or what may be considered rude in making this post. If you don't like it, "tough titty," said the kitty.

Thank you!

This next post is dedicated to you, Rivendale.

Mormons have a long history of having to deal with discrimination against dark-skinned people and developed apologetics of race and priesthood while peddling Mormon racism into a diverse world. Perhaps the most difficult place in the mission field was the South African Mission where apologetics was not just a necessity but a requirement. Let's examine that mission back in the year 1928 when the church boasted a total worldwide membership of 655,686 members. In those days missions were tightly controlled and carefully monitored by the General Authorities in order to maintain church standards worldwide.

"CUMORAH MONTHLY BULLETIN" South African Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
CUMORAH MONTHLY BULLETIN, August 1928, Samuel Martin, Mission President wrote:
WHO MAY BEAR THE HOLY PRIESTHOOD?

This is a subject which frequently confronts the Elders of the South African Mission, and though it has been explained in an article published in the "Cumorah Monthly Bulletin", there are those who imagine they can see an injustice in the doctrine: that some people are not permitted to receive the Holy Priesthood.

<snip>

The Laws Of Heaven Are Perfect

<snip>

Obedience is required of us

<snip>

The World must be Taught by Prophets of God

<Apologetics... blah, blah, blah>

I shall quote President Brigham Young again in this regard as follows:- "The Lamanites, or Indians, are just as much the children of our Father and God as we are. So also are the Africans. But we are also the children of adoption through obedience to the gospel of His Son. Why are so many of the inhabitants of the Earth cursed with a skin of blackness? It comes in consequence of their fathers rejecting the power of the Holy Priesthood, and the law of God. They will go down to death. And when all the rest of the children have received their blessings in the Holy Priesthood, then that curse will be removed from the seed of Cain, and they will then come up and possess the Priesthood, and receive all the blessings which we now are entitled to" (Jour, of Lis., Vol .XI. , p. 272) .

Blessed are those who are "white and beautiful" but cursed are those who have a skin of blackness which is "loathsome and offensive."

:o

Thus we see how the entire (ALL) Mormon church was racist and taught white supremacy!

Isn't that right, Don Bradley? You coward!

Why did so many Mormons buy into such a heretical belief? Is this due to the Curse of Polygamy?

What do you mean "so many Mormons"? Let me spell it out for you so you can clearly understand the intent of what I've both said and implied in this thread:

EVERY. MEMBER. PERIOD.

ALL (100%) of the Church was unified together as an entire body in believing, preaching, and sustaining the "DOCTRINE" of the curse featuring a "skin of blackness" under the direction of the prophets, seers, and revelators.

NO EXCEPTIONS!

The Church today has thrown the Church of yesterday under the bus. And it remains to be seen how today's Church will be thrown under the bus tomorrow.

How can this be?!?!?! Is even possible to imagine such a heretical notion that Gods' ONE, TRUE, UNCHANGING CHURCH could possibly deviate from the great TRUTHS which were revealed to his humble servant, Joseph Smith?

Doctrines of white supremacy was an important part of Mormon theology and WAS AFTER THE ORDER OF THE WHITE PRIESTHOOD whereby black souls (darkies, spooks, niggers, jigs, etc.) were not permitted to enjoy the blessings of the fullness of the restored gospel because they were of the seed of Cain, a murderer. The Mormons really were a racist people and looked down on dark-skinned people. That is a fact -- multiplied a million times.

Here is a link that will show you how the white brethren who led the entire Church considered the matter in several councils over the years but in each instance white supremacy ruled supreme. The Spirit of Mormonism was always about keeping the black man down -- calling them negros and classifying them as the seed of Cain.

Church Records - Race and Priesthood Investigation

Please reference and bookmark the above document which proves Mormons leaders really were racist and disgusting.

Isn't that right, Don Bradley? Where the hell are you?

I know you are hiding.

Back when I was a teenager I walked out of a Teachers Quorum meeting because the instructor was going on with old-time racist rhetoric.

Some members did indeed recognize the wrongness of those beliefs and did not have their judgment impaired by heretical Church teachings. They dared to walk away. However, the majority did grasp onto hateful racial teachings and were more than happy to slander Jesus as a result.

That is the most troubling aspect of Mormon racism to me - the slander of Jesus Christ and His teachings.
