I am not sure of the sinking ship thing. I do see four rats. I think they have commandeered a party (ship) to the misfortune of both parties.

Hound, there have always been extremists in both parties. You can find progressives who are full of bad ideas. I think you are correct that a party is healthy when extremist views are marginalized. I incline to think woke is exaggerated but I do not know how to make a sharp measure.

I wonder if Democrats spent so much time talking about what they see as wrong with Trump that the image of what Democrats stood for shrunk while this big balloon of Trump image expanded. Many folks thought they heard, chicken little, the sky is falling, so Trump is probably not all that bad. Hmm...

There appears to be a lot of talk about who will lead the Democratic Party into the next few elections. When I read that the Laken Riley Act passed the House and Senate with 46 House Democrats and 12 Senate Democrats joining Republicans, I thought - those Democrats who voted for it are likely in the center, voted their conscious, not the party line, and those individuals are the ones to listen to as the next elections appear in the future. They will recapture the voters the Democratic Party lost in the last election.

Wasn't there a white woman who identified as a black woman some years back and led some pro-black cause or other? That sounds pretty woke to me; why did she garner so much negativity?
In progressive circles, there exists a system that evaluates individuals based on their perceived victimhood. The greater the victim status one holds, the more leeway that individual seems to receive.

In the situation involving Rachel Dolezal, the individual you mentioned, despite her claims of being black and her identity as a member of the LGBT community and a woman, her whiteness negates any victim status she might have under progressive ideology.

One of the essential principles of progressivism is virtue signaling. Progressives, more than any other group in America, hold the conviction that their morals and values represent the sole virtuous and beneficial framework for the American way of life. This is why you will frequently encounter posts on this forum that humiliate, disrespect, or devalue anyone who does not share the same values as the progressives on the board.

When fully embraced, progressivism can instill in the indoctrinated mind a sense of superiority, or an inflated belief that one's abilities or accomplishments surpass those of others. Once an individual has fully embraced progressivism, they are likely to develop a superiority complex that overshadows their previous rational thought process, replacing it with an unmatched sense of superiority akin to the mentality found in various religious organizations.

Okay, but do you have any examples of people who left your beloved democratic party who aren't undocumented aliens from the planet - assholesrus?
You don't seem to realize how crucial it is to comprehend the image above. The wealthiest guy in the world voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, Hillary in 2016, and Biden in 2020. Additionally, there is RFK Jr., a lifelong Democrat who has supported Democrats throughout his life and has been a candidate for important cabinet posts in numerous administrations, including the Obama administration. Then, and above all, there is Gabbard, a lifelong Democrat who served as the youngest state lawmaker in Hawaii and the first Samoan and Hindu American to hold cabinet and congressional positions in the United States. These three influential members of the Democratic Party were expelled for their actions, indicating that progressives will not tolerate anyone who does not fully support the progressive narrative.

Because people realize that progressives are always going to complain about something, talk about what's wrong with the world, and say that if more people had their woke agenda, the world would be a better place, progressives and their woke agenda have become that person at a party that no one wants to hang out with. The traditional media is fading, therefore progressivism is losing a lot of its clout. Hopefully, progressivism will also die since no one wants to be around them anymore.

What do you observe when you view this picture? I observe the demise of the Democratic Party.

I concur. The progressive movement resembles an old piece of furniture that has outlived its usefulness and should be discarded

Jeff Bezos told his employees that all companies die and Amazon one day too will die. Every empire dies and every political party will someday die. Instead of sadness, why not embrace the new? It seems like you've found sanity in Donald Trump and Musk-turned-heel, so why not become Republican and sail into the prosperity that you believe they will bring to the nation?
Are you asking me to abandon a political party that I've dedicated my entire life to simply because it's been overrun by a group of entitled individuals who struggle to cooperate with others?

People who think what's happened to the Democratic party is worse than what has happened to the GOP are irrational and can't be saved.

Right... we should be more worried about people seeking equality in their clumsy ways than we should a party full of liars, thieves, hypocrites and wannabe dictators trying to eliminate our freedom.
Well put, SS!
You are incorrect.

Your emphasis lacks clarity and coherence! The comment and the accompanying sense of superiority you decided to align with is precisely why the Democrats faced defeat against Trump.

The person behind the highlighted post lacks the capacity to engage in dialogue without diminishing those who hold differing views from the progressive perspective. This person's posts consistently convey a dismissive and critical attitude towards others.

While you may choose to align with someone who struggles to express themselves without relying on logical reasoning, I would recommend reconsidering that decision

Apparently you don't know much about conservative circles. You ought to read a few posts by Ajax if you want to learn about victims. And we all know who the greatest victim of all time is.

I don't need to examine a republican with an avatar of Stonewall Jackson to grasp how the sense of victimhood within the democrat party foreshadowed their impending defeat in the 2024 presidential election, as well as their losses in the house and the senate.

Victimhood is quite common within the Democratic Party at present, with many Democrats, including a significant number on this forum, believing that we lost the election due to Trump. Democrats on this forum perceive Trump as a contemporary Joseph Smith, a figure who has misled many into accepting an absurd narrative for his own benefit, however, this perspective is far from accurate. Joseph Smith and the subsequent leaders within the Mormon church sought to keep information about the true nature of Mormonism, the everyday experiences of its followers, from becoming widely known. Trump is illustrating how progressivism has permeated the Democrat Party, highlighting that even moderate and conservative Democrats are hesitant to voice their opinions due to the fear of being canceled by the progressive faction within the party.

Progressivism is solely focused on its own ideology and tends to regard any alternative perspectives as misinformed, ignorant, or outright foolish.

Dogmatism serves as a means of catharsis within the progressive movement, enabling its adherents to express any viewpoint, regardless of its truthfulness. As long as a view aligns with the movement's principles, it is considered valid. This expression provides progressives with a positive emotional experience that ultimately affirms their opinions, irrespective of their accuracy.

The steadfast and unyielding commitment that progressives show towards their beliefs and principles is remarkable, as they genuinely believe they are the most open minded individuals on the planet due to their progressiveness. In reality, however, their progressive views render them some of the most dogmatic, authoritative, and self righteous individuals one could ever meet!

They are the reason Trump holds the presidency. Once more, the image I shared serves as clear evidence that it was the progressives who played a more significant role in Trump's election than the Republican base. The people in the picture didn't seek out the republican party, they were rejected by the progressive movement.
