Lol....you claimed, and often do that Trump does not have a clue how to handle the Immigration crisis, unless you are now saying he has a clue? . Your post was generally about open border policy and issues.
I don't agree there is an immigration 'crisis'. I've said, and I believe, that Trump's stated objectives will not be met with Trump's policies. That's what I believe. He's not going to put a dent in the fentanyl crisis by any of his assaults on immigration, nor will he solve it by a mass military effort against the cartels. He's going to create his own personal Afghanistan.

I've said quite a lot now about my beliefs on borders in general but I guess you don't want to read it.

I answered questions 2, 3, and 4, as I could do that in one fell swoop.

Question 1, human trafficking, is yet another topic. First of all, you haven't stated what Trump is doing about human trafficking. I can tell you that pouring massive amounts of resources into deporting workers is wasting money that could be used to stop human trafficking. there are various kinds of trafficking and a multi-pronged effort would be needed. It would be a lot of investigative work. Something that would require an expansion of the FBI and CIA, not turning it into a museum or reforming it to go after Trump's political enemies. It's not the kind of work you can do with bazookas and machine guns. There are fewer demand-side solutions and it depends on what trafficking you're talking about.

You'd have to pick a particular kind of trafficking as an example, and explain how Trump is going to "fix it". Then I could answer if I agree or how I would do it.

I am asking you what you would do. It has nothing to do with what Trump is doing. What is your solution to the issue.

Per my link, to start, just general border crossings. Having to pay the cartel for permission to cross and in many cases escort over. You're president, you have a pen, and you can make executive orders, it is part of your job.
I answered questions 2, 3, and 4, as I could do that in one fell swoop.
I honestly did not know if you were serious or not on that view, but now I know, we can get to that when we get through with question 1.

So you have no real solutions? Just that Trump's does not have a clue. Noted.

Okay you are president Gad (or Marcus, or Cakes, or anyone else), you just got elected with the same conditions we face today, which Trump is facing. Lets limit it for now to the southern border. What are your first moves in regard to executive decisions and policy, starting with these seven realties? Lets go one at a time.

1. Cartel Human Trafficking across the border
2. Cartel Drug production
3. Cartel smuggling drugs across the border (all means and methods)
4. Cartel networks in the US distributing drugs
5. Illegal immigrants here with criminal records from their countries
6. Illegal Immigrants here that commit crimes
7. Illegal immigrants here that are in gangs.
Increased border protection, people, and electronic surveillance for 1 through 4. Individuals in 5, 6, & 7 should be deported.

I think as importantly the legal staff to judge refugee status should be increased to make such decisions expeditious. People not qualifying should be sent back not left to wander about. I think some legal clarification of qualifying would likely be a help.

I think there was a bill to go at least part way on this that I understand Trump asked to be killed so he could do something.
Thanks Huck.

I agree with you on 1 and 3....and I think it is fair to say Trump is doing that, the border crossing are down from 40 - 90% depending on what you read. So that seems to be a good start in just a month. I think getting Mexico to help is major. Texas is helping a lot also by putting barricades back up that Biden ordered removed.

2? Partly I agree. A strong foot presence at the border will certainly disrupt and change the SOP. But from what I understand production is far away from the border and feet on the ground won't effect the actual production, but they still have to move it and a closed border would certaily help.

4? I assume that you would agree we need to arrest and deport while breaking up the network, but also 1-3 are key.

5, 6, & 7....I agree. I guess the next question is how we find them. in my opinion one key thing to do is make it a federal crime for any state, city, or county law enforcement agency to not place ICE holds on any illegal immigrant that commits a crime. Basically no sanctuary state or city in regard to illegal immigrants that commit crimes. My 2 cents is this will take a lot of shared information and joint task force communication and working together.
I think as importantly the legal staff to judge refugee status should be increased to make such decisions expeditious. People not qualifying should be sent back not left to wander about. I think some legal clarification of qualifying would likely be a help.
Can you give me a scenario so I fully understand what you mean by this? Are you talking about 5, 6, & 7 here?
I think there was a bill to go at least part way on this that I understand Trump asked to be killed so he could do something.
I think it had a lot of pork barrel and the GOP wouldn't buy into it. Biden could have done what Trump is doing now without a bill.

Okay great, so you admit Trump doesn't have a solution.

Your article had some interesting parts but wrapped up with a lot of nonsense.

First of all, we have to define what is meant by human trafficking. In the context of your article, we're talking about people crossing the border willingly, which isn't what I was thinking about when you first posed the question. It's pointed out at the very beginning that folks used to just be able to walk across by themselves, now they have to pay the cartel. Since they are paying the cartel, the cartel is "trafficking" them over.

So, I've explained this before, but whenever you make something illegal, you add a whole lot of additional criminal baggage. Prohibition. Instead of walking into a store and buying alcohol, I have to buy it from a criminal organization. That makes it a whole lot scarier. Now I'm involved with trafficking a controlled substance. Al Capone started with alcohol during prohibition, and a lot of what he did was smuggling over the borders. Once his criminal empire was built, he branched into racketeering, and whatever else. So if you want to make something illegal, think twice about how supply and demand will try and beat the policy.

The cartels started their border operations with drugs, and then branched out into helping illegals. The cartel provides a valuable service in helping migrants evade border patrol. The more draconian the border patrol, the more valuable the service is they provide.

If you follow my plan for Fentanyl as described, then the primary industry of drug smuggling is punctured. If you follow George W. Bush's plan for migrant workers, where illegal migrant workers can waltz over the border and work for a certain time period without harassment, then the primary industry of the cartel at the border has crumbled. There are a lot of other bad things that go over the border, but the thing is, without the infrastructure already existing for the two primary trades 1) drugs 2) willing migrants, then it's questionable that money from other ventures will be enough to sustain the operation.

So what is your solution, have the US government secretly sneak the Illegals over so the cartels will give up charging then to cross over?
