Reddit is reporting that Robert Boylan is now threatening to sue Styven Pynakker because one of his subscribers posted a comment stating Robert Boylan was a member of the IRA (Idiotic, radical, apologists).
Mormon Book Review’s Steven Pynakker was doing a livestream last night explaining why he took down his latest video about the fictional African American apologist, Richard Nygren. Apparently Mormon scholar/apologist, Robert Boylan, was watching and took to Facebook to put out a veiled threat of litigation towards Steven.
He recently complained that someone was commenting on the fact that he mumbles during his videos and is unintelligible the majority of the time. Even his fans often post that they can’t understand him. It’s not because he’s Irish, it’s not his accent, it’s simply because he’s a mumbling loser.
Any employer, the BH Roberts foundation included, would be unlucky to have him.
It’s been a while, but Boylan is merely engaging in a longstanding Mopologetic tradition—I.e., threatening legal action. DCP must have threatened me with legal action at least a dozen or more times. As Dr. Stakhanovite once observed, the Mopologists always play the “legal card” when their backs are against the wall. (E.g., DCP made this threat after it was pointed out that he’d made money from Mopologetics, and when IRS documents proved that he had.) And Hamblin began squealing about legal action after I obtained and reviewed a pre-publication copy of the “Dehlin Hit Piece.”
Plus, if labeling someone with an insulting acronym is grounds for a lawsuit, then I hope one of our resident attorneys will represent Markk pro bono against DCP for referring to him as “MarKKK.”

This condition is known as Aphasia, and thus, Boylan would be considered an Aphasiac.

Wonder if Boylan could use a device similar to Stephen Hawking's, where he could type and speech could be generated? If an inanity filter were applied, and they used the Female Midwestern voice reproduction, he would be understandable.
Do you think Boylan has retained the services of Spencer McDonald, Mormon Attorney?

Oh no. By all means, Kirton-McConkie. Go BIG or go home.
I know absolutely nothing about why the BH Roberts Foundation and Boylan parted ways. Nor do I recall what exactly Steve said before the video came down.
But I think it reflects rather poorly on the BH Roberts Foundation if the Richard Nygren scandal had nothing to do with why the two parties parted ways.

You cut to the heart of the matter. If Richard Nygren had nothing to do with Boylan losing his senior (lol) research analyst position at B.H. Roberts then there needs to be a conversation about why.
I would go a step further and ask how he was hired in the first place? It was already well known that he was unhinged when he was given the job.
I also ask how, after everything Boylan has done, Scripture Central is ok with hiring him? I don't bemoan these organizations destroying any credibility they may have through imprudent hiring practices, but I still cringe a bit to see these people sabotage themselves to sustain a deranged man in his derangement.

Like the VA taking care of old soldiers in a vegetative state:
"You killed for us, and so we keep you
Because we need to earn our pay."

It would be more like the VA giving a mentally unstable veteran guns, ammo, and money. Then letting him loose on the street to "keep fighting the good fight."

Yeah, he really blew it that time.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
