I feel like my #1 reason isn't on here---to worship God. "Religious obligation" could be an approximation, so I checked that.

I have attended the same church since 2009, and now I teach Christian formation and occasionally preach there. Christians are meant to worship God, to read the Word together, to teach one another, to pray together, to help one another, and to be in community with each other. All of these things happen at church, and all are among the reasons I go.
Good answer, Ms. Jack. This is along the line of my thoughts as well. I checked the sermon, grow closer to God, and community options.
