A 12 year old boy has the authority to pass the sacrament. No woman, regardless of age, can do the same.
A 16 years old boy has the authority to bless the sacrament. No woman, regardless of age, can do the same.
An over 18 male has the authority to ordain people, can bless a child, can bless a sick person, can serve on the Bishopric. No woman can.
Men can hold conferences without any woman being present. For women to hold conferences, a man has to be present.
If a Relief Society President wants to appoint someone to a position of her counsellor, a man has to do it for her.

The idea that a woman “exercises” priesthood power, is mealy mouthed sleight of hand. It’s dishonest “spin” designed to keep those uppety women quiet and to portray to the world the misleading notion that there’s equality in the Church. There ain’t. Anyone that tries to out forward that notion is either being deliberately dishonest, or they are gullible.
Back to the topic.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I have responded to both of you in regards to this. You didn't respond.

What ends up happening is that when you do the "back to topic" schtick it more or less acts as a period rather than a comma. Where this tactic has been used before on other threads the thread typically dies.

That is unfortunate.

It's almost as though you both intentionally want a thread to die if conversation elements and/or participants don't particularly line up with the direction(s) you might like to see the thread go.

It's rather obvious, like I said earlier, to any outside observers.

In all likelihood the substance and interesting content of this thread is over. And other threads where this has happened.

Here's the deal. I won't jump in (which I don't anyway) and blow up a conversation by using 'periods' ("back to the topic") if you both will discontinue doing so.

You have the better end of the deal, however, because I wouldn't to that anyway.

If you present something and/or ask a question and don't get the response that you want or think you should get, don't curtail the conversation through various ad hominem and/or methods to 'bomb' the conversation.

OK?

MG

There has been some interesting discussion on reddit about this topic. This is from the SLTrib's mormonland newsletter, dated 3.20.25:
Renlund addresses gender equality
Speaking at a women’s conference this month in Arcadia, California, apostle Dale Renlund tackled head-on a question about the church’s lack of gender equality and representation.

“The reason for the asymmetry between men and women regarding priesthood office ordination has not been revealed,” Renlund said. “Any proposed reason for that asymmetry with regard to priesthood office ordination is speculative.”

The absence of a reason, the former heart doctor cautioned, “doesn’t give us license to change the asymmetry just because we want to.”

Renlund did, however, assure the hundreds of women gathered to hear him speak that “any unfairness that’s created by the asymmetry can and will be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.”

In the meantime, he observed, church leaders “haven’t done as good a job as I think we can” to address existing imbalances “within the bounds that God has set.”

He concluded: “So, we’re going to do better.”

Renlund’s comments about ordination in the faith’s all-male priesthood echoed a similar warning he issued three years ago regarding the church’s belief in Heavenly Mother.

“I wish we knew more and you may wish you knew more as well, but reason cannot replace revelation,” the apostle said at the time. “Wanting to know more, asking questions, is not a bad thing. But speculation can sometimes … divert us from what has been revealed."

Women can change the world!

https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.or ... ef-society

In the link provided scroll down to:

Global initiative for the well-being of women and children.

Amazing work!

My question to the women who are critics of the church: Is the LDS Church's efforts at global scale and local scale to let/ask/beg women take charge in performing acts of service a net positive or a net negative?

Outside of the church are there similar outreach programs...administered by women...that have such a large impact as the Relief Society of the CofJCofLDS?

Why the negative nannies :?:

Brad Wilcox did not help with this talk.

“Some lady walked up to me that I didn’t even know, sees my nametag, and she’s like, (mumbles) ‘Brigham Young University … ’ (shouts) ‘WHY DON’T YOU GIVE WOMEN THE PRIESTHOOD?!’

Just like that! And I said, ‘Good to meet you too.’

And then I asked, ‘What’s the priesthood?’

And she said, ‘Well, uh, I don’t know, but I think the women should have it.’

Seriously? ‘I don’t know, but the women should have it?’ What’s malaria? ‘I don’t know, but the women should have it?’
