I don't know is a perfectly acceptable way of answering some of the most fundamental questions about the origination and nature of our universe. But then here comes Mormonism (and others) and claims they know. Not only do they know they say it's a guy. And we know who this guys son is. We know what he wants us to do. He cares about where we touch ourself and what we eat, what we wear and he demands money. That isn't I don't know.
And Mormon leaders claim to have special access rights that no other religion has, and so they are the only men on earth who can speak on God’s behalf.
And that is only something to take seriously if it is true. That is, if God is behind it. Otherwise, yes, it's all a bunch of old guys spending their time in some kind of power play to dupe folks. I know where I stand. And I also know I'm not a dupe. We also know where you stand. Sort of. Thing is, you have NOTHING to offer.

Nothing to offer? Once again the mercenary aspect of Mormonism surfaces. Quid-pro-quo. What's in it for me? Nevermind the massive advances we make in medicine, technology and the humanities that required zero input from polygamy, race bans, and homophobic rhetoric.

Nothing to offer in regards to anything beyond the here and now. Although, I must say, the here and now is kind of a nice thing to play around in. If all is going well. Otherwise, not so much, right?

You tried to downplay the idea of a heavenly mother with a body having children with "Dad" in the eternities. THAT is pure Mormon DOCTRINE. It astounds me you try to skip and dodge the most fundamental aspects of Mormonism and downplay early Mormon leaders who taught what is still believed today as being real in order to try and appear "normal" or something or other to everyone here on the board. That is what I was calling you out on MG. You don't get to say I am no dope, and then turn around and side step obvious Mormon doctrine, talking evil against the early Mormon Lord's anointed then turn back around and imagine it is all true, and you know it is. You're inconsistent in an amazing huge way.

MG is a dope. He hasn't even read a few good books. Mormonism silences heavenly mother. But that is okay because they are put on a pedestal that allows no movement unless a priesthood holder sanctions it. The magic wand of the priesthood has unfortunately captured many women that were brought up in this almost exactly like the Nauvoo years.

The physicality of Heavenly Mother(s) remains undefined in official teachings in regards to pre-mortal life. That's all I'm saying. Beyond that you can conjecture and speculate all you want. I do agree that logically one would think that Heavenly Mother(s) would also be exalted being(s).
I suppose I should be more doctrinaire on things that seem to be 2+2=4. Sometimes I take the long way around to get somewhere.

The Priesthood does play an integral part in the plan of Salvation and Exaltation. No one is arguing that from a faithful perspective. But the critics start at the very foundation and gut the whole idea of "Priesthood of God". From there I guess you can go anywhere you want.

He's not "gutting" the priesthood. You mean to tell me you really don't get his point here MG? Come on, that takes a special form of deliberate obtuseness on your part to miss his point.

No it doesn’t. It’s just a notion created by men to give themselves permission to be in charge of a religious group.
There is no rational explanation for why a 12 year old boy can pass the sacrament, but a 12 year old girl cannot. It’s just a system designed to elevate men and subjugate women. It’s simply a reflection of the long held notion that the order of things is for the male to be in charge. It’s tradition, not a special divinely generated system.
If Priesthood power was real, the Apostles would not have hidden away during Covid. They’d have been in hospitals healing people. They weren’t. They were hiding. Why, with all that power and authority were they too scared to practice what they preach and exercise their Priesthood? It’s as if they knew it’s all just make believe. Cowards, the lot of them.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
