May I follow up? When you said that you tried to "recover that testimony', what was that 'thing'...lack of a better word... which you believed you had that you then lost? You then use the word "reaffirm". Reaffirm what? Again, something you had? If you had something then lost it does that mean it never existed in the first place? I'm asking, truly wanting to know what your thought processes were. Did you later question your non-belief in the church because of what you had once had and apparently 'knew' it?

Mg I'm sure you thought your question was a pleasant invitation to communication but it is clear that from stig's comments he would naturally have felt it to be disrespectful abrasive and insensitive to what he actually said.

He would have thought, asked and answered, what the heck?

Bumping this to get back on track

I came to the same conclusion a while ago, and, as a result, have almost completely stopped responding directly to MG.

Unfortunately that means that I sometimes have to leave his implicit (or even explicit) mischaracterizations unanswered. I simply hope that anyone reading his unanswered comments to me can recognise the truth. It's a bit more difficult when he only partly quotes me, but, as my son often says, it is what it is.

by the way, sometimes I find that it helps if I write a reply, save it as a draft, and then delete the draft a few days later [ETA] without posting it.

The conclusion you and Stig are discussing is well warranted. And the mischaracterizations he makes are seen by all and don't fool anyone. Look at his very last post! He couldn't have illustrated his bent for mischaracterizations any better than if he had asked an A.I. to do it for him.

They both have YouTube channels that you can dig into if you want to know why they came to different conclusions. As it is, it might be the older brother, younger brother thing. I think they both respect each other and Forrest may have given way to Jacob at times. Although when I watched it, I must say, I came away looking at Forrest as being well spoken and having the opportunity to speak when he wanted to. He may have a quieter/subdued personality than Jacob.

I don't know that I would judge Jacob too harshly.

Remember, the poster should write how long the video is and point out different subjects they are talking and the minute mark they are talking about it, giving evidence they watched more than the first five minutes.

Stig's reply was harsh so I suppose in a strictly legal sense mg does not need to apologize so he will continue to not understand and this discussion will continue to go nowhere
