But he doesn't die. He suffers a mortal head wound and somehow recovers. Unless I'm not understanding what you're referring to.

In any case, at this point I wouldn't rule anything out. I spent some time thinking this over. I've never felt compelled to say this before but now I do. I wouldn't rule it out.
The first beast was before him, not concurrent with him. The chapter describes the wound as occurring sometime before that. This "deadly wound" can refer to either his defeat by Joe Biden but coming back to win the presidency again anyway, or it can refer to the assassin's bullet that nipped his ear.

You know I never went fully down this line of thought before. I've taken note of certain things but hadn't given it a "good think" until last night. If I still have it, I've got a good study guide to The Revelation that presents the various views in depth or ways of looking at it. Example, was it only for Biblical times, future times, or both. Preterist view, etc. I know how to match The Revelation to Bible times but haven't given it serious consideration in these times and events we are seeing unfold.

Just a few things off the top of my head that I picked up on: Recall how he read the parable/fable of the Snake? Holding up the Bible in front of the church? Putting his own name on the Bible and selling it? Wanting to have a coin produced with his image on it? The assassination attempt head wound that really made me pay attentiong? Seeking absolute power and control? Only he can saved us? His increasing connection to Israel/Gaza and relationship with Gog and Magog. I forget what all else but those are some I kind of filed away.

Last night as I thought (in complete silence) about some of the pieces I just listed I kept saying, "Wow", "Wow". Not in a fearful way but in astonishment. In any case, I think it bears consideration and I wouldn't rule anything out. Believers are charged with recognizing the signs insofar as we can understand them and... I'm thinking I need a review.

Just as an aside and for my own reasons, I wish Franklin Graham would wake up. I cannot believe how he's aligned himself with Trump. If nothing else, he knows scripture and unless he's turned a total blind eye to what is happening in our country, he knows that God is not the author of confusion...the love of money is the root of all evil...what you did to the least of these you did also to me...by their fruits you shall know them.

I'll stop now before I fill the page with a total brain dump on this.

As you mentioned, Trump is an antichrist. If you wanted to paint a perfect picture of teachings attributed to Christ, you would paint the Bizarro World version of Donald Trump. He is everything Jesus preached against.

ETA: I honestly can't see how people can rationalize a Trump vote and still call themselves a Christian. It just proves to me that at least the people who do that are only churchgoers for appearances, and that there is a unique religion for every person who calls themselves religious, because everyone interprets the ideas differently.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

Just stopped in for a break from in real life and I'm glad to see your reply, Schmo. You don't have to believe that any of this connects to the Bible or belief to see that Trump is the polar opposite of the teachings of Jesus and wonder how on earth Christians have hitched their wagons to him. I feel exactly the same way. "What are you doing? Don't you see? Wake up!!"

I single out Franklin Graham because I take it kind of personally. I grew up viewing Billy Graham's crusades and you know, while Pastor Graham served as spiritual advisor to a long list of presidents, I don't recall a single time where he took a public political position. I could be wrong, but I never witnessed it. I feel like Franklin is under the spell of Trump and (in my mind) he of all people should be able to sort Trump out. Where is the discernment I expect him to have? Then again, I don't know if preachers should be voicing political positions to start with. Never heard that in church not once, not ever, in any denomination I've visited or regularly attended services.

What does Trump do? He creates chaos 24/7. He capitalizes on fear. He terrorizes. He harms people from the youngest to the eldest of our citizens and now his reach is across the globe. I don't know how anyone (believer or not) can turn a blind eye to his hubris and abject lawlessness. He spits in the face of the the Supreme Court that he himself stacked in his favor. How is that giving Ceasar his due? How is that obeying the law of the land. And let's not talk about the 34 felony convictions.

Will anyone challenge the the Supreme Court ruling on his presidential immunity? That's GOT to happen. The majority of Congress is totally in the tank for him. What a set up!

I want to say about a thousand things but back to what we were discussing. He absolutely IS a type of antichrist. I'm not gonna get squirrely about the Beast he rides in, that's just an incidental feature of the wider picture. Nothing..NOTHING he has given fruit to aligns with ANY teaching of Jesus the Christ. NONE. Be in the world and not of it? How are we (believers) so easily falling for this stuff? Some supporters believe he's ringing in the Second Coming. Well, he could certainly be doing it but do they even ask themselves why they are celebrating the possible "The Antichrist"???????

Even Cam before he left, I think he referred to Trump as the literal antichrist in 2 posts. Definitely 1 post. I don't know what that meant to him but he did say it before anyone else has here.

As for me...just stating a bit of a position here...the very last thing I would do is celebrate Trump as one hailing in the Second Coming. As for the Second Coming itself I look forward to it. But nothing could make me align myself with Trump out of fear. Nothing! I don't fear him. I find him entirely repulsive. Him, Putin, and Netanyahu...all three of them repulsive and not a little sadistic. I'm talking Dark Triad at this point. Absolutely sickening.

You and I may be coming at it from 2 different world views but I always appreciate how many times we see things the same way. I mean you just gotta have a brain in your head. Apparently we both qualify to some extent. :)

You both have spectacular brains on my take. I also am reminded of the sober Hopi prophecy of beware the man in the red hat. He appears shortly before the Blue Kachina or star arrives (their version of a Christ 2nd coming).

Kerr...isn't it you that has the full set of Strong's Concordance or something to the effect? What is that that you have? It was a full set study guide you were so happy to get.
