Re: TDS
It's not TDS. It's a collection of posters here who are closely following facts. TDS is simply a handy way that people too lazy to follow facts and news dismiss what others are saying.

Re: TDS
The idea of TDS as cooked up in right-wing circles is their thought-killing mechanism to excuse themselves for abdicating critical thinking and the moral responsibility that goes with it. Anyone who challenges their complacency by confronting them with the vicious abuses of their authoritarian regime must have “TDS.” It really is Bonhoefferan stupidity in action. Bonhoeffer was one of the greatest Protestant theologians and moral philosophers of the modern age, and he would have nothing to do with MAGA. It pains me to see otherwise good people embrace this evil.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:46 amIt's not TDS. It's a collection of posters here who are closely following facts. They can't defend themselves, so they go on the attack with everything they have: nonsense.

Re: TDS
This is consistent with my experience. I recently had a conversation with a Trump fan who agreed that Abrego Garcia's constitutional rights were evidently violated, but they were OK with that. They didn't use the term realpolitik, but that was the gist. When I tried to explain why I thought violating constitutional rights mattered, they quickly changed the subject to the problem of TDS. It's like they thought it was the conversational equivalent of a 'Get Out Of Jail Free' card. Truly bizarre.Kishkumen wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 1:09 amThe idea of TDS as cooked up in right-wing circles is their thought-killing mechanism to excuse themselves for abdicating critical thinking and the moral responsibility that goes with it. This attempt to make citizens stand mute while the most atrocious crimes are being committed against America is a diabolical yet foolhardy strategy.

Re: TDS
They have given up on the Constitution. Being American no longer means to them what it has meant for most people for the past two and a half centuries. For many of them, it seems to mean “white Christian Trump supporters.” They might add citizenship, despite the fact that they are betraying the document that makes citizenship meaningful.Bret Ripley wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 3:22 amThis is consistent with my experience. This is one of your best posts, Ceeboo! I had a blast reading it!ceeboo wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 12:02 amWhile certainly true, it's not just threads kicked off, it's countless posts within threads as well. If this board was a kitchen, TDS can be found littered all over the surface of the counter, it can be seen trying to hide behind the fridge, it is dripping under the sink, it has shattered the coffee pot, it has caused the fresh bread to become quite stale, it has turned the steak knives into weapons, it has rendered the measuring cup useless, and it has completely eliminated any opportunity for anyone to eat a meal who enjoys different flavors. It's really sad, in my opinion.Hound of Heaven wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:26 amIf no one believes me, just dive into the threads kicked off by the progressives who seem to have caught a serious case of TDS on this board!
All thanks to the fear-porn that runs wild. Why does it continue here (and many other places), because far too many people are still buying it all - bathing in it all - and while being completely soaked in it, it seems there is a deep desire for much more soaking. Some folks are convinced that the apocalypse is just around the corner, all thanks to Trump being in charge!
When you spend 99% of your time and effort on questioning and laying judgement upon other people's humanity, you have very little time and/or room to even consider your own. They seem to have misplaced their humanity somewhere between the couch cushions and the last slice of pizza!
While you're quite right, you used adjectives that seem to be far kinder than the ones I typically see. They can't stand anyone who doesn't hop on the progressive bandwagon! They see anyone who dares to challenge their progressive story as utterly clueless, completely misinformed, and downright silly!
Anyway - so very sad on so very many levels.
Ceeboo, if you take a stroll down memory lane and revisit my posts in this thread, you'll find that I never suggested there shouldn't be any opposition to Trump. However, based on the comments from the progressives here, you'd think I was handing out "No Trump Opposition" badges, because they keep insisting I'm asking them to take a nap instead of opposing the Trump agenda.
Trust me, that couldn't be more off the mark! All I've put forth is that the progressive strategy of being the opposition party in a very negative way by always trying to paint your opponent as a villain, a monster, or a member of some secret society has become so old and tiresome that the American people have grown weary of it.
No matter how you slice it, Trump and MAGA seem to be the life of the party for most Americans, while the progressive cause feels like that one friend who always brings the mood down, militant, hateful, and just a total buzzkill!
Check out Moksha's post right above this one! It's like a never-ending theme party in this thread, and guess what? Moksha's post is a prime illustration of how Trump derangement syndrome can scramble the brain's circuits, turning logical thought into a wild rollercoaster ride of confusion and chaos once someone catches this quirky affliction.
In this thread, I've been highlighting how Trump and MAGA are viewed as a delightful treat, while the progressive agenda seems to be trying to outshine them with a sour note that has left many Americans scratching their heads. It's clear that the progressives I keep mentioning are missing the memo that to take on MAGA, we need a game plan that's just as cheerful and upbeat as theirs! They’re so lost in their own world that they can’t even see they need a cheerful message that actually connects with the American people. It’s like Woke and progressivism threw a party, but forgot to invite positivity, now it’s just a gloomy gathering!
Woke and progressivism have turned into such a spicy stew that compromise has packed its bags and left the building! Trying to outsmart Trump and MAGA with a mindset that’s all doom and gloom is like handing them a playbook! You become as predictable as a cat chasing a laser pointer!
The progressives have turned into such a reliable punchline that Trump is now sharing pictures of himself as the Pope. And when the dust settles, the progressives' reactions make them seem way more off the rails for obsessing over the image than Trump does for actually posting it! Trump is not just the head honcho of MAGA, he's also the accidental captain of the progressive movement right now, at least until someone dares to take on the wild ride of negativity and chaos coming from the Democrat party.

Re: TDS
Which part of the Constitution do you feel Trump’s opponents should compromise on, HoH? Due process? Freedom of the press? Article One? Which part of the Constitution are you ready to give up?
