Trump specifically stopped the legal attempt to address immigration by demanding Senate Republicans reverse course on the bipartisan immigration bill. And he did it because he didn't want to give Biden a win in since this was a major fear-driven issue in his campaign. Meanwhile he picks and chooses which laws to follow or enforce while flaunting basic foundational elements of democracy.

The immigration bill was a mess. Have you read it? Trump stopped what Biden should have and could have using a simple executive order and using US code laws on the books, in a month or two. Instead Biden, or who ever the Gríma Wormtongue was, allowed 10 million unvetted people. It wasn't until Texas started shipping them to blue states did they say there was a crisis.
