There are 21 pages of various posts about American Airlines. Either American Airlines bought MAD, or they don't have any moderators.

Where are their mods? Where is anyone? There are 181 new (non Mormon related) topics by this clown in the last 60 hours.

Eta: There are two troll posters, one with 181 troll topics started, the other with 612 troll topics started.

ETA again: Nope, it gets worse. Another troll found, started 153 troll topics since last Friday. 4th troll, 338 topics in 48 hours. I'm sure there are more. The board is swamped. We get a handful of these once or twice a week, but the mods are quick to nip it in the bud. What's going on over there?

Currently, there are 463 troll threads in General Discussions, and over 25,000 troll threads in Social Hall, started by what looks like dozens of troll accounts, in the last three days or so.

It feels like a job for Sisyphus, but may it eventually end (is there a smilie for crossing fingers?)(there is!)

850+ pages in social. It would be as bad probably in here too without the banning of spammers (so they have to restart and get those 25 posts again, which are all new threads when it comes to spammers).

Hopefully there are options that can be toggled by the admin that will make this unlikely to happen in the future to save moderators from all this work.

Perhaps even finding a person to only act as a moderator to approve all new posters with the requirement they show they are human by interacting with the moderator, answering a question, etc, though this may lead to even fewer actual new posters. Or maybe just give a moderator the ability to toggle the ‘need to be approve’ switch on and off if this will eventually stop if thespammers are no longer given access. If it just pops up again when no approval needed is restored, that will be a pain.

I love the one post a day for new posters idea, though that might still result in Social being flooded.

I think the real issue is that MAD only has one person with full administrative authority for the board: Nemesis. And Nemesis is AWOL or otherwise not taking control of this, leaving it to the moderators to delete these posts one by one, a tedious and endless task.

I doubt it is an easy thing to pass through the veil of Outer Darkness into the human realm to swat some troll posts.

It is finally cleaned up, but it has been over a week. Apparently, there is only one mod with admin privileges, and that is Nemesis.

Maybe Nemesis is having a faith crisis and doesn't care about the board any more????
