Reported the constant pejorative of the word "fibber" being used in many posts. Unnecessary.

Apparently, you think you have the intellectual capacity to make "that decision" I'm talking about.Gadianton wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 12:59 amThis contradicts your position on this thread and on the mudslide thread, where you argue that "mother nature," basically a label for "randomness," explains almost everything in the world.MG wrote:Why are you dead set against God? A personal God. One that is behind the meaning and purpose of the universe and the one that gave you breath. It takes a bit of hubris to throw God in the trash bin, doesn't it? Do you have the intellectual capacity to make that decision?
What you're essentially saying is that God is the architect of the world in some really vague sense, but you're not going to specify exactly what. What do you mean by a God that gave Sock Puppet breath? Is that a metaphor? If God gave Sock Puppet breath, did he withhold breath from the billions of babies and children who have died, including by suffocation? If not, and he gave all of them breath, who cares, if he only gave these babies breath such that they face some violent death by other means.
When the Book of Mormon states that we should be grateful for the air we breathe -- why? That's like an authoritarian kind of gratitude. If God created us, and created us such that we will experience a horribly painful death should we not have access to air, and then he gives us access to air, why should we be thankful for that? Do you think your kids should be grateful to you because you feed them when you could simply withhold food from them and let them starve to death?

Fascinating. This cry-baby can't handle being called a fibber. Meanwhile, he called a poster here a "purveyor of sin and sodomy," he's called me a "grand purveyor/queen of B. S.," and he's referred to the entire board as a "toxic wasteland." He's called many people many disparaging names far worse than 'fibber.' He called grindael a 'loser' in the thread grindael started to announce that his paper had been accepted by a prestigious journal and that he had been asked to give a presentation on it at their annual conference. It was an amazing moment for our friend, and the mental gymnast did his best to destroy that moment by calling him a loser. I can think of a few other names besides 'fibber' the mental gymnast deserves.

That’s some great missionary work, Fibber.

Many believers have an emotional fragility and hypersensitivity. Some of the first political correctness/wokeness that is derided by the right wing was actually by religions and believers as a community. Words that are banned? Sure. Society designates certain words to be offensive to 'civil' people, calls them vulgar, 'swear words.' And you were peer pressured by those religions to not use those words, particularly in their presence as they found them offensive. So it is quite hypocritical for the religious right to get their knickers in a wad that they get called out for using terms, like the N word or R word for the mentally challenged, which are offensive to others, just as those on the religious right would be offended by someone using the F word, particularly in their church buildings.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 3:46 amExactly.Marcus wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 3:29 amFascinating. MG 2.0 displays that hypocrisy. He tosses negative epithets at others frequently, but if called a "fibber" he complains. Par for the course.

I do respect your right to believe as you do and to argue in favor of that belief. I do not think believers are stupid or brainwashed. That said, I do not feel that positively toward the LDS Church as an organization, and I will let that out from time to time. It is not that I think the LDS Church is especially bad, but it does fall far short of my expectations of it as an organization that claims to represent Jesus in the world. We can agree to disagree.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 03, 2025 9:25 pmThere have been a few posts on this topic. They help me understand a bit better where some of you are coming from. Thanks for that. Hopefully, no harm no foul. I may have misjudged intent. I think I've mentioned it before, Kishkumen, but I do, in the main, respect your civility and basic kindness towards others on this board...with a few exceptions. But the same could be said of me. None of us are 'free from sin' and should not be casting stones at each other.
