See, this is a perfect example of why I have Whiskey on ignore.
Yup - it is also a perfect example of why I also have him on ignore.
Still, it's nice when people quote him sometimes, because it always reassures me that I made the right decision. He is just a waste of time - I mean, he's not even amusing!
Sure, you could leave him on ‘Ignore’, but you’d be missing out on his attempts at grade-school reverse psychology:
“Whiskey” wrote:Schmo, you keep saying you hate Trump, but nobody here spends more time thinking about him than you do. Even Trump is probably not this locked into the Trump story. You follow every headline, every quote, every rumor, and every minor blip that involves him. You post about him constantly, and you never take a break from it.
You say you are criticizing him, but the volume and intensity of your focus ends up doing the opposite. You keep Trump at the center of every conversation, which is exactly what Trump thrives on. Attention is his fuel, and you supply more of it than any MAGA supporter I know.
This is why I keep saying you are actually Trump’s biggest fan. Not in the sense of liking him, but in the sense of being the most reliable source of constant Trump content on this board. If Trump vanished from the news tomorrow, you would have almost nothing left to post about. Your entire online presence is built around reacting to him.
You think you are fighting him, but you end up amplifying him. You keep the spotlight on him every single day. That is why I say you give Trump more support through attention than most people who claim to be in his corner.
Your problem - and Schmo’s - isn’t that you talk about Trump. It’s that you don’t talk about him in the right way.
If you were posting mindless propaganda about Trump supposedly protecting a black child who was paid to make an appearance on Fox so that he could say how ‘safe’ he feels because the National Guard was shipped into town,
then that’s okay. But pointing out that Trump’s irresponsible and partisan use of the Guard to satisfy the juvenile
red meat needs of his base now has put Guard troops in danger? Well, that’s
bad.
Trump paying off his friends with multi-million-dollar settlements over J6? Setting up crypto scams that enrich his family? Taking bribes openly and receiving gold bars as a reward for altering tariff policies? Accusing brown folks of eating pets in order to stoke fear? Pardoning people who beat up on police officers and calling them ‘patriots’ because they voted for him? Don’t you dare mention any of it.
Grabbing immigrant mothers who’ve dutifully shown up for their in-process asylum hearings, tossing them out of the country and then joking about it on official social media accounts because doing so satisfies the hatred of his Base towards immigrants? Just
shut up about that.
Discussing Trump’s bogus lawsuits against political ‘enemies’ and his talk about court-martialing vets who ask our troops to follow the law and the Constitution? Firing capable people because they expressed support for women and minorities in the workplace? Threatening to arrest individuals who have opinions he doesn’t like?
Don’t talk about any of that.
Same as pointing out any of the other grift, corruption, scams, blatant racism, general ineptitude, and cruelty. Shame on both of you for pointing out any of that stuff.
Don’t you know that if you just shut up and avert your eyes, Trump will start acting differently?
And if you just keep your mouth shut up about all of it, then the folks who support MAGA and it’s corrosive hatred can feel better about their support, because they won’t have to be reminded about the consequences of their choice.
Which, actually, is what Whiskey’s feigned concern appears to be about.
