This will be the third time I've asked mentalgymnast to explain his words. Maybe third time's a charm:

...There are many different communities built by humans throughout the span of human development and history. Many of them quite different from each other. Would that not be a possibility in a hoped for hereafter? Obviously, we're all not alike here. Why would one think we would be 'there'?

In LDS theology it is the covenant relationship with "one greater than they all" that creates a celestial kingdom/community. Indeed it is ALL about relationship with those that are relatable specifically to us as individuals.

I don't see how this is even possible with an 'abstract god'...

...Mentalgymnast would like his comments like the one I quoted above treated seriously. Which I did.

But, let's try again. It would be interesting to have mentalgymnast explain his comment about separation of people in the afterlife based on who he thinks is his equal...

Fair warning, I expressed the opinion previously that this is bigotry on mg's part. It would be interesting to hear his explanation of why he thinks a god would separate people based on HIS expectations of who he prefers to associate with.

If I see something noteworthy or interesting that I believe might be interesting to members of the board that may not be in the 'core group' I may post it for possible interest. If I see a thread topic that holds interest and doesn't seem to be one of many times it's already been discussed I may post something either independently and/or respond to someone not on my ignore list that I've found to be mostly civil and is not carrying out a personal vendetta that they are not able to let go of.

I think I may know who those folks are. Most of them, however, post infrequently.

This being the case, the board can now mostly do what it does best. Act as an echo chamber with everyone essentially on the same page. Bash Mormonism and its leaders and doctrines.

More or less a free for all.

In order to facilitate that I will not directly respond to those that have this desire and motive so as to make this a 'safe place' for those of like mind. If I see something alluded/referred to by a non ignored poster that prompts me to chime in with something pertinent, I will...although I will not interact with those on my ignore list.

This is, of course, knowing that I am giving free reign to those folks that have done and will continue to do what they do best.

Sadly, haha, they will not have anyone to troll around as they have done. If they do they will be ignored on my part.

I would rather it didn't have to be this way but this will work out better for all concerned. Including me, of course. Best wishes to those that I've had previous conversations with and no longer will.

This is a stunning display of such incredibly narcissistic thinking that one has to wonder if the author is being serious. Not to mention that having a single poster announce that he will change how the board functions by 'allowing' certain things is just laughable.

Again, I think this is a perfect example of a sadistic personality getting his jollies by trolling a community, because I simply cannot fathom that a grown adult would assume it was appropriate to post what mental gymnast has posted. It's so extremely narcissistic it's cartoonish. Are there really people who go into a group and seriously, honestly, realistically post like this? I don't think so, but if I am wrong, this raving narcissist has painted the most damaged, intellectually and emotionally stunted picture of a contemporary Mormon man possible. Could you publish somewhere (tag line, perhaps) your current "Ignore" list? You likely have one of the biggest on the board, and it might be helpful for us to see all the folks who are included.
