Snap eligibility is based upon income and not cars so if a person income stopped and they had an expensive car they could be eligible for benefits. It is an emergency help . If they have income not declared they are committing a crime which can be prosecuted. It happens but if a person is wealthy why would they bother wit b the small benefits of the snap program?

You don't think that a person should have to sell his $350,000 Roll's Royce before he can receive government welfare benefits? How many people being taxed to pay for those benefits can afford a $350,000 automobile?huckelberry wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 4:44 amSnap eligibility is based upon income and not cars so if a person income stopped and they had an expensive car they could be eligible for benefits. Did you see what happened to lower ranking state government officials, like Ms. Bernstein who referred welfare fraud for prosecution in the state of Minnesota? Did you see what Keith Ellison and Tim Walz did to them?If they have income not declared they are committing a crime which can be prosecuted.

And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

If they have a house should they sell it first? What about a farm? A business?ajax18 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 1:13 pmYou don't think that a person should have to sell his $350,000 Roll's Royce before he can receive government welfare benefits? I had similar thoughts. It’s a bit ironic to see people who argue for limited government and personal responsibility also arguing that the government should control what people are allowed to own.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 2:58 pmIf they have a house should they sell it first? I guarantee you that the people arguing for limited government and personal responsibility are not the same people who own a $350k Roll's Royce while being on food stamps. If they do, they're hypocrites. What they're doing is essentially telling someone can barely afford a Kia to get to work and back to pay their grocery bill so that they can drive a $350k Roll's Royce. Yes, they should sell it. And if they have a house, they should sell it and move into an apartment.Limnor wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 3:14 pmI had similar thoughts. I get the instinct, but once we’re deciding what people have to sell before they can eat, limited government sounds less real.

Why do they have nothing to eat when we're supposedly unable to fill the demand for workers without mass and illegal immigration? Look at this from the workers perspective rather than the welfare collectors perspective. When we say limited government we're saying that we should have the right to give charity to people we know and determine ourselves whether or not to give it. If you did the work and earned the money, then you should have some say in how much of it you need to give away to those who can't afford to eat. Where is the limited government in the federal government seizing a portion of every paycheck before you can even make any decision on how to spend it, while not allowing you to even know what they're spending it on?
I think welfare should done privately where the giver and borrower actually know each other, meet, and discuss their immediate needs. Anything else leads to fraud in my opinion.

Ajax. I can see the point about expensive cars but I have a hard time see many such being so short on income as to be snap eligible. Perhaps some quick business collapse.ajax18 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 1:13 pmYou don't think that a person should have to sell his $350,000 Roll's Royce before he can receive government welfare benefits? The Minnesota article appears to be about very different things. Contract irregularities are referred to. That suggest corruption which should be investigated I think
