Honorentheos, I think your description on progressive and conservative is reasonable and clear. It think it is good point to note that a society needs both. You mention the danger of some progressives who loose sense of the value of some conservative principals and think and speak as if tearing everything down to start anew is more than a dangerous fantasy. On the first page here Some Schmo opined that group could be 15 percent of democratic voters.I thought that perhaps a bit high.(I hope)

This is an excellent point. I have long held that society needs both progressive/liberals and conservatives, who honestly listen to each other. Together they form a negative feedback loop that ideally prevents both stagnation and speeding out of control and flying off the rails.

#2, if you want to support a theory, "critical theory" an idea that came from Germany in the 1930s from a bunch of "educated white men" then feel free. But me and my dumbass that doesn't know when to use the correct spelling of "to or too" is going to err on the side of caution and not trust any theory that came out of Germany from that period. If you want to embrace Marxism then go ahead, it's a free country, I think.

And so Atlanticmike provided 3 more examples of arguments that mischaracterized critical race theory and almost completely missed the point of it. Based on the excellent links canpakes and others provided and what else I have read so far by leading critical race theory proponents, those examples are almost textbook examples of strawman arguments IMHO. That some very exceptional and/or lucky members of marginalized minorities manage to beat the odds, and rise above the limitations that systemic racism, past or present, have tended to marginalize them, with little or no outside help, does not in any way invalidate the basic premises of critical race theory, nor invalidate the idea that we ought to be on the alert for, honestly acknowledge and work to root out whatever biases and unfair attitudes and practices still exist.

You're not "erring on the side of caution," you're merely mimicking the talking heads at FOX Noise who tell you what you're supposed to be outraged about. None of your videos negate what I said, but you're just too dumb to understand that. critical race theory is not taught in schools. Period. It is only taught in some upper tier courses that are electives.
