As I mentioned to Kish, I don't post in this forum anymore but I still do a fair amount of lurking - and when I see that you have posted something, I almost always click and read. Great to see you too and double great that you are still contributing. Hope you and yours are well!

What I am about to say will undoubtedly not be popular, but so be it.

I really liked grindael. His posts were always a treat, even when I did not agree with him. I am very sad he has passed on.

But this mentalgymnast situation was always puzzling to me. It looked to me that grindael just let mentalgymnast get his goat.

Now, I have been there myself many times. Do I let people annoy me and get under my skin? Yes.

But it could be that grindael actually left for reasons that included things other than mentalgymnast.

The situation we find ourselves in now is a little different. Now we have people who come around obnoxiously spouting what many if not most of us interpret to be fascist garbage and conspiracy theories. I find such people to be as appealing as hosting known criminals. Mind you, I don’t call them criminals. I am talking about my subjective feelings regarding their impression on me.

We need adequate moderation in Spirit Paradise. We also don’t want Spirit Paradise to leak into the Mormon boards. I ask that someone responsible volunteer to moderate in SP, if we want to keep it.

Folks!!! We have a winner!!!! That's exactly what I said and that's exactly why she did it. She could've messaged anyone here in the terrestrial privately asking for help, but instead she faked a thread title by using a deceased man's good reputation so she could bring the toxicity here by calling us "trolls" in the terrestrial. Basically, she's trolling everyone here on the terrestrial forum and at the same time calling out Dr. Shades. Very manipulative for a long time poster to this forum.
If she wants relief she should ask doc cam to stop insulting posters personally. I've already said I would stop, 8 times.

Pointing out what happened to Grindael and seeking a remedy from Dr. Shades, are not mutually exclusive. It is more of a focusing crystal to allow everyone to see what happens when one poster targets another or beats others about the head as a specific ideological rebuttal. As Sean Hannity might say, "Here Progressives, come here little Progressives. I want all of you pissboys to quit posting that anti-nazi stuff."

How to stop Doc Cam? Have you tried the tactic Tokyo used, with high voltage electric wires, when he comes out of the sea looking to stomp on more sections of the city?

This is simple. Lem started a thread with a deceased man's name to try and fool posters here in the terrestrial. She's upset because she didn't get the response she wanted from Dr Shades when this subject was being discussed in spirit paradise. Look at the first paragraph in her opening post! The first sentence, ""These two trolls are only pretending to have legitimate concern."" She brought this fight here to the terrestrial so all of Dr Shades friends can read what's going on in spirit paradise. In the past couple of weeks the posters in spirit paradise who have been asking Dr Shades for assistance are also cussing at him and putting him down in the same post. Seriously!! Ask the man for help and condemn his moderation skills in the same post?? Ridiculous!!
I didn't know Grindael, but the way lem and Jersey have "paid tribute" to the man on this thread, anyone who never knew him would think he's a frail old man who couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. They've made him out to be a victim. Sorry, most men don't want to be seen as a victim. I'm going to guess neither would Grindael. It's a shame Lem woke up yesterday morning and decided to use Grindael and his reputation to try and force Dr Shades to change his mind about his decision on what's happening on another forum.

Or, - we as a collective community, can take a stand against the bigotry, intolerance and bullying that litters that forum. in my opinion, that will provide a much better possibility for change to take place than assigning a moderator would. A number of people have been over the past few years. You know, folks like ajax and the other white nationalist types. The sort of people who left conservatism behind and went full on populist authoritarian. I think fascist and nazi are appropriate shorthand terms for these types, even though I will admit they are somewhat inflammatory. Populist authoritarian is just kinda unwieldy to write over and over again.

See above. I can't recall all of their handles. Is it OK that I don't find hosting "populist authoritarians" or "white nationalists" to be more appealing than hosting criminals?

So, I suppose I prefer a moderator over "taking a community stand" because I don't know that there is enough agreement about what the community should be standing for. I think it is fair to say, at this point, that political discourse has broken down to the point of extreme polarization, with many people espousing positions and advocating actions that I find frightening. Moderation would at least cut down on the more extreme cases.
