Really??? Here's what I don't understand! If you go back and read older post in spirit paradise, you'll see a constant barrage of name calling toward subgenius and Ajax18. Doc cam, schmo and Icarus would team up and constantly call those two conservatives all kinds of names including Nazi, mushroom dick, idiot and so on. Look man, I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I'm not stupid enough to go down that path. Ajax and subgenius would post all kinds of information and links to back up what they believe to only get called names constantly. I decided to use a different strategy. Like I said, I had posters contact me to say I was going to be attacked after my "newness" wore off. I don't even want to talk about politics, I have no desire. That's why I post videos, i hate politics. I want to talk about Mormonism and more personal stuff.

If you read the older posts from the broken board you'd see clear evidence of Cam, Schmo, and Icarus going at each other in the exact same way. You'd likewise see Lem and I going at one or more of those posters, including going at each other. There's not a poster in the Paradise Forum who has ever been shy about independently stating their opinions, their positions or leveling criticism as they saw fit. There's not a long running poster on this board who hasn't alternately harshly criticized and sincerely praised Shades as they saw fit.

You think that what you see in the moment is an indication of the posting history of the posters on this board (and might I add their political affiliation) some of whom whose experience with each other goes back more than two decades.

You don't know where you are.
You don't know what you're doing.
Your dichotomous thinking is bound to be your own undoing.

Instead of behaving like a reactive toddler whose attention span lasts less than a minute in duration, you should have asked questions of the posters in the other forum. You should have asked them why they commented in a certain way. You should have asked them about their political leanings. You and C should have done any number of things before taking it upon yourselves to swoop in like savior wannabes and actively troll-spam an entire forum of people engaged in continuing dialogue with each other.

And in addition to all of the above, you could have used the report feature to report the posts that you thought violated the rules that are in place or created a new thread for the express purpose of calling out what you see as poor behavior instead of mucking up existing threads.

As it stands, you and C did none of those things. The key to all of your woes is: make inquiry, call people out in a new topic thread in the appropriate forum, and/or turn in reports as you yourself see fit.

I have a feeling it all comes down to you, and Doc, and all the others involved in this not learning how to accept that someone on the internet disagrees with them.

First - Thanks for showing an interest in this and taking the time to engage some of the people involved - I appreciate that. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to try maintain a fair and level mind, when replying, with only a mere sample of this that has been jammed down your throat (this thread showing up on this forum). Truth be told, it would cost you way too much of your time to be in a position to accurately and confidently address the issue that lie at the center of why this thread arrived here.

Having said that, I wanted to let you know , for what it's worth, that your above comment is patently inaccurate. Like not just in the wrong zip code kind of inaccurate, you're in the wrong Country. This is way bigger than not learning how to accept that someone on the internet disagrees with someone.

Anyway, I sincerely do appreciate you showing an interest and I fully recognize the unfair position you have been put in.

I see Ceeboo continues to make vague allusions to how some people have been mistreated. This is a pretty typical tactic trolls use to allow others to fill in the blanks using their imaginations, which have been influenced by the vagueries.

I’ll make it simple.

This is a discussion board.

A. Discussion. Board.

When you treat a discussion board like a wall and simply post graffiti people are going to get irritated.

So, this is how the trolls work:

1) Show up and make a claim of some sort. Usually low effort.

- Claim is usually taken in good faith, and efforts are expended at rebutting or engaging the claim.

2) Ignore responses, calls for references, and requests for clarification.

- That behavior is rightly viewed as suspect, and annoys discussioneers.

3) Insult, make passive-aggressive swipes, pivot to new claim ignoring the discussion, or otherwise initiate hostilities.

- It’s on. If they set the bar it’s time to belly up to it.

4) Act like a victim, and then use their victim status to confuse casual observers of their complicity.

- It’s a pyrrhic defeat at this point because there’s really no winning unless the discussioneers want to countertroll or just use the bad-faith actors as foils to make points.

Ceeboo is butthurt because he’s a Christian who used to proselytize on the old board and had his ass handed to him repeatedly, so he gave that up for posting gifs of babies and, I dunno, small animals. He’s also a Conservative, and you can imagine how that went. So, more baby gifs and small animals. Ceeboo breezes into the forum NEVER TO DISCUSS. He comes here to bellyache, wear a mask of kindness, and, like MG, say a bunch of crappy nonsense to DERAIL DISCUSSION. He’s MG minus the Mormon.

Additionally, he has explained that when he uses sexist statements to degrade a woman, that is acceptable if he does it ONLY when he dislikes THAT PARTICULAR WOMAN. Insulting ONE woman with sexist slurs, in his mind, is not being sexist. I don't know how people come up with that justification, but it is extremely hurtful.
