Agreed. I can’t recall a comparable situation while I was moderating. But I’m pretty sure that it would have resulted in a time out. Probably longer than a few hours.

In the early days, we'd get bots and porn spammers on the board. If Shades and I were on at the same time, I'd pitch him the links and he'd delete them one for one. I'm sure he found a workaround for that via the admin panel but that was the situation at one point.
The hyperactive troll/derailing/spamming gave off the same vibe here in terms of damage to the topical threads.

A-Mike isn't banned, but I admit the controls are a little weird. I tested access from perspective of his user and it shows posting ability. He should clear cookies and cache etc., or try from a different browser.
I/we haven't heard back from Shades by PM, phone or text, although he did post once yesterday and the log shows he took a handful of mod actions; a couple were foul language related. I assume this to mean that he's not putting his foot down against nor is he supporting anything, but at the moment he doesn't want to deal with it. Given the hours of activity were after midnight, he may really not have time for stuff; who knows. He even mentioned on the board his computer dying so he might not even have a computer right now.
To add a little more information, I forget that some people are new to the forum since it was spun up, so a quick history: The old board, Mormondiscussions, was dying, and Shades unfortunately was bound to a horrible hosting/forum provider who was letting the forum die with no viable way to fix the problems; also, he's not technical. So he got into a better arrangement and I installed the board and set it up. Because I setup the board, I have default god mode (under another account), but I've never had an interest in moderating; the agreement was it's Shades' board to set the rules, make the forums, and moderate, and I support with the tech stuff. The general community opinion also matters a huge amount, as community donated money to get it going.
Well, at a certain point, all the mods dry up, notably EA for Paradise, and so it's been left to Shades, who is now going through some intense personal issues, it appears. A lot of complaints recently about moderation for some time now. Anyway, I'm the only other person who has access to do anything.
So I've gone rogue. Although I appreciate the sentiments, I'm not super interested in becoming a moderator although let's see what Shades says when I talk to him, and If Res ends up being the new EA for Paradise, then should Shades be willing, I would continue in a limited mod capacity for Terrestrial. I'm not touching Paradise right now but what I imagine is likely coming, is at minimum, cracking down on direct personal attacks and x-rated banter. And yes, that includes personal attacks on Ajax. In fact, that's where it probably starts.
What I'm doing for Terrestrial in interim is just keeping the worst of Paradise out, and F-bomb cleanups etc. as needed.
The real victim here is me, not Cultellus and A-Mike. I've soft-banned myself from participating in Paradise until I feel good about where Shades is at with all of this. And so coming into Terrestrial with trash talk and making me do this has resulted in a restriction of my freedoms.
Under the insurrection for Terrestrial, I'm not really into red pen and warnings and all that stuff. It's super easy not to say "F" or "S" or variations thereof, or to directly call other forum members names, or avoid pornographic speech and so on, and so I'll just edit out what I see, then delete if that don't work, then ban; no drama, warnings, debates, or trash talk.

Qultellus is just grasping at straws since his stated aim to destroy the board has now suffered a big setback with the appointment of a mod. I suspect he’ll start spamming the report feature to frustrate Gad in an effort to get him to quit.
I’ll address his accusations:
1) profanity - now that we have a mod in place I intend to abide by the forums’ rules, as per my earlier-posted statement
2) bigotry - I’m definitely bigoted toward GQP’ers and antivaxxers
3) use of homosexuality as a pejorative insult - I place no value judgement on homosexuality, so this is the troll revealing his own hand, not mine
4) racial insults - I simply posted what GQP’ers and alt-Rightists have to say about POCs
5) harassment - compared to what our two trolls have been doing, I’m a pussycat *meow*

You really have no idea what's going on around you do you?? You have been confronted and dealt with in a fairly timely manner. For 8 months you have been extremely bigoted against people who don't think like you in spirit paradise. I came in here in a matter of weeks and got you put behind a wall of moderation. If I hadn't of done what I did, you, Schmo and Icarus would still be picking on people right and left in spirit paradise with Lem and Jersey Girl sitting in the stands cheering you guys on. It was well worth getting banned for a day to expose your bigotry to all your buddies here in the terrestrial. Do they actually care? Probably not!
