I’ll bet that most of the ‘no’ votes in this poll are from new accounts created in the last week or so. ; )

Thanks MG, as I was a moderator at Z who was well-liked by the other moderator's at Z, I thank you for your confidence as I temporarily try to hold things together while Shades is going through the difficulties that he's mentioned on the board.
People who respect Shades and believe in shades could do him a service by setting the example, independent of what other posters are doing.
Yes, many of us do, myself included; as did many at Z. You seemed to enjoy a good go at Grindael before he passed. Grindael was a man who clearly had some deep personal struggles. I'll bet that felt really satisfying.MG wrote:that seem to thrive and find some degree of fulfillment in rolling in the mud, so to speak
In other news:
- I am reviewing all reported violations for terrestrial for now and it's pretty light; thanks everyone. Please do report issues as you see them though.
- My long-winded posts: yes, trolling from what I can tell is fine within Shades' vision and board culture, that was directed to everybody. There are various definitions of "trolling" of course: there is 'baiting' type trolling as EA did to me, where he wasn't violating any rules and his posts were substantive, and he on-purpose provoked me into bad behavior -- I have to own that. Some people think of trolling as serious disruptions to the board; constant spam; extreme direct personal attacks; rarely anything but drama and does all this at high volumes; That kind of trolling does become a different story, but still want to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Defund the Police is probably seen as a "troll" at Sic et Non because his views are contrarian to the status quo there. I love that guy. But his posts do have substance along with any jabs, and he doesn't post a hundred times on every thread. I'd say for critics: Look at the critics posting at Sic et Non, and if you're a fan, expect that the same level of contrarian posting should be protected here, and then a little more just to be safe.

Lem, You do have an option to do the right thing here. You don't even have to go as far as apologizing to anyone, you can simply say you had a misunderstanding or that you misread something. No biggie - I have many of my own.
Plus, I will even let you know what my response would be before you take such a high risk. I would tell you "No worries, I've done it too. All is well."
But, you are the one who has to make the first move.

Absolutely true. But for this case, the numbers are very heavily on my side.

I haven’t read through this whole thread. But without having done so, may I say that I’m not surprised ‘Lem’, as she is being referred to, is somehow involved in a board ruckus. I can’t count the number of times Lemming trolled me throughout one thread or another either misquoting me out of context or creating mountains out of molehills. My guess is that she, and others, are still at it. Doesn’t it get old folks?ceeboo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 6:09 pmLem, You do have an option to do the right thing here. Or maybe I need to be corrected, there’s nothing to see here. But like I said, I haven’t read through this complete thread and I don’t know what this latest kurfluffle is all about. I am surprised to see ceeboo in the middle of it though.
What gives?
And yeah, it’s me. I haven’t been around these parts for a while. I wasn’t able to get in with what I thought was my password. I didn’t get a response when I asked for help, so I simply created a new 2.0 account.
I’m sure I missed a lot while taking another hiatus. Or not. Civility apparently is still being held hostage.
Regards,
MG

Typical MG. Doesn't read what people say. Lobs generic insults at the board. Justifies it with self-righteous indignation. "Doesn't it get old" indeed.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 6:52 pmI haven’t read through this whole thread.
