Maybe the mods should ask Lem to rewrite her opening post so it's actually a tribute to Grindael instead of her complaining about me, cultellus, mental gymnast and the job shades is doing. One thing the opening post isn't, is a tribute to Grindael. She trolled everyone in the terrestrial by lying and everyone knows it.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:02 pmWhy am I not surprised Mental saw a ‘Tribute to Grindael’ thread and decided to start trolling? Hopefully one of the new mods can take the time to split off these asides from Mental and Ceeboo so the thread can be preserved in a way that honors Grindael’s memory.

A split would be great.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:08 pmI know they're fulfilling every claim that was previously made. Not to worry, if a split takes place, it won't take long. Even quicker if Gad does the split. I'm secretly hoping he'll take a permanent mod position.Doctor CamNC4Me wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:02 pm

Was the original first post altered? I just read it and I don't understand how anyone would think this thread is a tribute. What am I not understanding?Lem wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:18 pmA split would be great.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:08 pm

The tribute part was added post-hoc.Tinfoilhat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:29 pmWas the original first post altered? I just read it and I don't understand how anyone would think this thread is a tribute. What am I not understanding?

Lol. No it wasn't. Read the thread, both of you, if you'd like to understand. It is pretty littered but it's amazing what you can learn if you read.drumdude wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:32 pmThe tribute part was added post-hoc.Tinfoilhat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:29 pm

If you speed read through the thread it becomes readily apparent that Lemming may have been up to some shenanigans. I think she would like to see it disappear. It did come to a sudden halt. I found it either on page three or four of old threads as I was browsing those that were posted before I came back for one of my temporary visits.drumdude wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:32 pmThe tribute part was added post-hoc.Tinfoilhat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 9:29 pm

It had already gone away. Some folks probably didn’t want to see it come back. Tribute thread, huh?

Here was another fine soul. A person of great creativity, talent, passion, and intelligence: grindael. We were fortunate to have him on our board. I also enjoyed following his contributions to the Mormon Historians Facebook group. Sometimes I argued with him pretty heatedly, but I knew his heart was in the right place. His research was so important for our understanding of Mormon polygamy. Things that other scholars missed, grindael would put together. I wish he had been able to publish his work formally. As it is, much of his stuff is in danger of being lost.
We miss you, brother. You were among the best of us, and now you are gone. God speed, if you are out there.

What was the original thread title? I was here when it was first posted but I didn't save it.
