Enduing these moments of complaint is well worth it too. The complaints die down and the long term benefit of inoculating, as I'm sure they see it, a bunch of youngsters with dogma-level responses is too tempting.

This will likely be an unpopular opinion here, but there is another truth I would like to put forth: Just because FAIR is unintellectual gaslighting trash, does not mean it won't, in the long run be effective for some people, and our youth, full of vim and vigor are the perfect targets for what they are serving.

The LDS church has faced it's problems with the truth vs foundation, truth vs theology etc many times over the decades. Perhaps not on as large a scale as it is now experiencing. I think in the long run their tactics will work for many. I do not believe the church itself will dissolve into nothing. Nor do I believe it will abandon it's truth claims anytime soon. I think it will evolve, as it has always done, into something VERY different, unrecognizable even, from the church I left.

I hope the changes will be for the better. The TITS videos have me doubting that hope. They seem to be doubling down and moving toward pure orthodoxy. That move in my opinion will not be sustainable for the long term. Reform will eventually happen once the old guard in the Q15 pass the torch.

I think you're right in that there will be successes that t come out of this campaign and those like it that build from the lessons they are learning here. How large or lasting those successes will be is another question but no doubt the Lord's Hedge Fund will persevere.

Excellent metaphor. To FAIR they appear to be the godsend for desperate times (Apparently the CES Letter has defeated FAIR to this point). I don't know that they'll do any good in the long run but it may be that a bunch of youngsters are now running around making fun of unbelievers for really stupid reasons like those found in these videos.

The point of these videos are to show just how ridiculous the CES Letter is.

…and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit…

I wonder how Scott Gordon and John Lynch and people on a certain blog would have reacted had Runnells or Dehlin produced videos of this nature to try and draw young Mormons attention to the problems within Church History or Apologetics? It’s clear Fairmormon has pretty low standards of decency and, given the nonsense within the videos, has had an institutional integrity bypass.

Basically Fairmormon has conceded they have no good answers to the questions posed within the CES Letter and have instead resorted to the equivalent of yelling “you smell” at Dehlin and Runnells.

The Church doesn’t need critics when it has defenders like these...

Spot on observation.... Yeah the Gospel of so-called love has become the Gospel of mockery from the Great and Spacious Buildings marring the natural beauty of the Great Salt Lake Valley. I suspect the irony is completely lost on their age infected brains and souls. The Gospel in Utah is meant to be read, not lived. The evidence keeps piling up, the fruits of Mormonism's tree is rotten. I wonder if the irony of that is also lost on them.....no doubts it is.

Fairmormon tries to explain why they got their TITS out...

Recently FairMormon released a new set of videos titled “This is The Show” on our YouTube channel. These videos use comedy and caricature to address criticisms of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are intended for a youth and young adult audience as part of our efforts to provide accurate, well-documented answers to criticisms of the doctrine, practice and history of the Church.

FairMormon is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing well-documented, accurate, authoritative, and complete answers to criticisms of and questions on the doctrine, policies, practices, and history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The overwhelming bulk of our work is set forward in well-documented articles and lectures. “This is The Show” video series isn’t a change in our course, It’s our first attempt to support young people—using means, methods, and media commonly familiar to them—in their efforts to understand and defend sincere and insincere questions or attacks on their faith and beliefs.

The Church has been losing young people in high numbers for a decade or more, and this is Fairmormon's first attempt at supporting them? What have they been doing with all those donations then ffs?

Here's what these videos do - they give licence to Mormon's to mock and ridicule younger members for having questions. They say that it's okay to caricature and make fun of young people who are struggling with their faith. They are tantamount to inciting bullying of young people who already feel they don't fit in to the faith, and we know where that road leads. They need immediate official censure from the Apostles before some more young people end up hurt or worse.

Anybody associated with Fairmormon in any capacity is culpable in any harm that comes from these videos unless they publicly disassociate themselves from the organisation and agitate for a change of leadership at Fairmormon. Heads have got to roll for this one.
