More of the Sherem story (just after he died in front of everyone):
And when the multitude had witnessed that he spake these things as he was about to give up the ghost, they were astonished exceedingly; insomuch that the power of God came down upon them, and they were aovercome that they fell to the earth.
22 Now, this thing was pleasing unto me, Jacob, for I had requested it of my Father who was in heaven; for he had heard my cry and answered my prayer
Which God is it that listens to the prayer of someone who wishes for the death of someone because of disagreement and hopes all witnesses of the death fall in astonishment when one side of the disagreement dies, convinced, apparently, that someone was wrong?
I mean if God was anything like he was in Sherem's day maybe there'd be reason to believe today?
Why would God’s response in this instance...a LONG time ago...influence your belief in God one way or the other today?
If God exists, God exists. Some folks look for reasons to disbelieve others look for reasons to believe. It’s always been that way.
Apparently it was better that Sherem bite the dust.

It does sound like you aren't really serious in your belief in your scripture then?

If God exists he's likely a million miles away from what Mormonism thinks he is.
“Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.”
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos
Sherem believed in God but preferred the notion that there is no Christ...
I’m thinking that gemli doesn’t believe in Jesus as Son of God.
Are you attempting to show that gemli is something other than what he appears to be?
Is he for Christ or against?

Gemli is not like Sherem because he seems intent to believe the arguments presented for a belief in God are wanting and are easily defeated. Sherem apparently actually believed in God. If even if he were in Joseph Smith' time, would be pretty reasonable, since most in his world and society did so believe.
I've been asking you what about these guys sounds like gemli exactly?

As I said, I’m sure that gemli is a nice guy. Takes his dog for a walk daily, and cleans up after the little guy when he poops on a neighbor’s lawn. But the fact is, gemli preaches anti Christian belief and does so publicly and regularly. I don’t see any reason that he should not fall into the category of being an antichrist.
And in reality, nowadays, those that outwardly take a position towards teaching antichrist positions all over the internet are a dime a dozen. Not as though gemli is anything special in this regard.

As you see it, how enemy is someone who does not believe Jesus is Christ? Traditionally religion had it that anti-Christ was really bad. Do you agree? Does that mean Christ deniers shall be damned?

I think that none of us can fully comprehend God and His ways. Why He would do one thing vs. another in one time and place and not another, I don’t know.
But is that reason to doubt or disbelieve in His goodness and love?

Yes. God being described as acting a fool is a good reason to disbelieve that he is there. or its at least a good reason to believe that those who are presuming to tell everyone about God don't really know what they are talking about.

They are teaching that Christ is not the Son of God. Unless I’m mistaken, that is gemli’s position which he publicly espouses and preaches in public forums. Is he THE AntiChrist? Of course not. Little a, not capital A. He’s a bit player, but a player nonetheless.

Definition #1. Anyone who actively teaches that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God. Obviously there are degrees in where these folks fall on the scale. Some are more vehemently opposed to Christ than others.

From things I’ve heard said in regards to Jesus Christ by some on this board at one time or another I would propose that we have those that are anti-Christ among us. That, as I’ve said, doesn’t make them bad people necessarily. They simply hold ideas and beliefs that are opposed to the doctrine of Christ, His mission, His reality, as described in the scriptures.
