Yeah, the ground game needs work. They need to bring back the old lefty populism (and I'll keep saying that until I'm blue in the face). Joe Rogan supported Bernie and so did Tulsi Gabbard. I think Musk was a Democrat at one point too.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:48 pmI just want to figure out how to be a consultant for the Democrats. I'm sure I can come up with something, at least in Nevada, that's better than "text people an obscene number of times, and after they text "Stop," use an alternative company to text them again from a different number to circumvent telemarketing requirements."

Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

Ceebs you need to be linking us to the sources where you got the above figures.ceeboo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:31 pmBelieve me or not (I don't really care) I am not intending to pile on after the election results and/or am I attempting to squash low hanging fruit - Rather, I am interested in the perspectives/thoughts/opinions from the politically left-leaning members here - a.k.a. Harris supporters.
While reading some of the finger pointing that is going on within the DNC, I came across the following.
Table setting -Short version: Harris went through 1 billion dollars (and, as of now, is around 18 million is debt) from the campaign.
A couple examples of where the money went :One million to Oprah (Oprah's Harpo Productions) for the town hall Oprah did with Harris - 15 million on "event productions" (Lady Gaga - Katy Perry - M&M)
If this is true (I don't know that this is true) - Isn't this like a Hollywood production? Paying celebrities to endorse? I would have thought that people like Oprah, who wanted to save democracy, would have done the townhall for free and I was a bit shocked to learn what her fee was (and that she took it)
Personally, I have a lot more to say about all of this, but I will resist in order to see what any of you think.

It is the overwhelming quality of Trump supporters.
The Republican talking point network is supposed to be kept sacred (and secret).Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 12:33 amCeebs you need to be linking us to the sources where you got the above figures.

Some odd thread replies so far. Anyway, Cuomo did a piece about this billion dollar spend that might shed some light on the things being discussed in the thread.
DNC finance committee member, Lindy Li, offers her view concerning the Billion dollar spend, and more specifically, her thoughts concerning the million-dollar payment made to Oprah Harpo Productions. (If your interested - The Oprah money can be heard at the 2-minute mark of the video)

No comment on Mrs Trump’s payments?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.

Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

So, you don't understand the difference between 'celebrity endorsement' paid to an individual, and a company being paid for 'event production'? Okay. It takes some understanding of vocabulary and skill at reading sentences, so your objection rings hollow at best. Rumor-mongering and the moving of goal-posts by calling it 'Oprah money' both require the lack of such skills, so your post is not surprising.ceeboo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 1:33 pmSome odd thread replies so far. A million dollars given to an individual goes in the pocket of said individual. The million dollars given to a company for event production, goes in the pocket of the person who owns the company.
So, in this particular case, the difference is that an individual (Oprah) gets a million dollars put her front pocket - or the owner of a company (Oprah again) gets a million dollars put in her back pocket. Like six in one half dozen the other.

It'd be substantially less than a million in her back pocket, because there would be all of the people staffed by the company who would get paid as well, but I think that's probably a close enough assessment.ceeboo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:14 pmI think I understand it. Let's see:

Like, when Trump consistently and significantly overcharged the Secret Service to rent a hotel room at his property, that's Trump dishonestly taking taxpayer money and putting it in his back pocket. Or, when foreign governments rent an entire floor of rooms at Trump's hotel, and don't even use those rooms, and then Trump gives favorable treatment to that government, despite that government being hostile to America and its interests, that is the foreign government putting money in Trump's back pocket.

Exactly as expected. But, you're pretty predictable, so it's no surprise.ceeboo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:14 pmI think I understand it. Let's see:

While it's not always the case, conceding is a sign that you may be well on your way to freeing your mind.
