Pirate, it's against Mormon teachings to drink alcohol. You'll have to quit if you wish to remain a member in good standing.
Alcohol or church. Choose.
there is a third alternative - lie, as I did off and on for years.

"Quit"!!!!! I am NOT an alcholic!
LOL. I am a good member back home but not here. I am a less active here. Not really but that is what they think. It is because I at times go home. Back home I had callings and stuff and was good in my callings.
(by the way, "jack Mormon" is a slang term in the U.S.---possibly just the West?---that means someone who is only nominally Mormon. Someone who goes to church now and then, but doesn't, say, take the world of wisdom seriously. So "JAK Mormon" was a pun on this, meaning someone who isn't a Mormon at all, I guess!)
From the Ernest L. Wilkinson Diaries: "ELW dreams he's spattered w/ grease. Hundreds steal his greasy pants."

LOL. I don't believe in the same god. I guess that rules me out. When I pray I do not visualise anyone. But Mormonism is good for me. I had not intended to get drunk. I only tried it but got drunk on very little. I was walking into walls after the first drink.

Yep, Blixa has it right. I used the phrase "JAK Mormon" because of Pirate's friendship with JAK as well as the fact that she decided to have a few drinks the other night. It was a pun. It was not intended to imply that JAK is a Mormon.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy. eritis sicut dii I support NCMO
