If they win, I think we’re pretty much screwed.

Can we just have Clinton back? Not Hillary, the good Clinton?

Actually, I think this is precisely what Hillary was counting on when she made it clear she wouldn't take the VP slot for Obama if offered. She's setting her sights on 2012, letting Palin pave the way as the first non-decoritive split-tail in the White House, let the nation have another 4 years of far right christian neoconservatives... And in accordance with the prophecy she'll be able to run on a "I damned told you so" platform and will end up as our first Female President.

Okay... so, this made me laugh (warning, contains profanity):

And the Hunt Is On!

Lefties are furiously scouring the internet for Sarah Palin's old position papers on NAFTA.

Just kidding. They say they want to keep the debate elevated and discuss the issues, but that is, of course, like so much of what they say, an utter lie. Mitigated only by the fact they're so self-deluded about their own righteous virtue and lofty intellectualism they almost believe it themselves.

So what are they looking for?

Well, check out the search which just landed on my site. And the various lefty sites encouraging searching in this direction.

Here's an example from Craigslist...
got a be a pic out there somewhere. Will the religious hardliners vote for a woman that was in a swimsuit competition?

Their counterpart taliban wouldn't.

But the lefty blogs are alive with the hopes of a swimsuit pic that will disgust all of us crazy vagina-fearing right-wingers.

Stay classy, left wing. Stay classy, and stay deluded.

Do you honestly damned believe anyone's going to be put off by a young woman wearing a damned swimsuit?

I don't care who you want to win, this election just got a lot more entertaining.

I'm all for oil drilling that will take up less space in the vast Alaskan wilderness then a mid-sized town. Even if it does result in the death of three caribou, a moose, and a penguin named Phil.

Of course not. Politics over religion any day. This babe can be counted on to deliver the oil and keep the Fortune 500 needs front and foremost. Among the Republican men, a little cheesecake can draw a few winks and a guffaw.

"QQ big oil" is the best you got? It's official. The woman is bulletproof.

So Democrats are frantically searching for pictures of a Republican veep pick in swimwear and you're waxing eloquent on the effect "cheesecake" on Republican men? Makes perfect sense.

I read the above sentences before I heard that McCain had chosen a running mate. Do you have any idea how freakin' confused I was?

EVERYONE: Pretend you just woke up and didn't know that McCain had chosen his vice-presidential running mate. The re-read the opening post.

I realize the main reason she was picked was due to her va-jay-jay, and the more libertarian-leaning governance is only incidental, but I'm pleased.

I think she was picked for many reasons, but among them is the fact that McCain already expressed reluctance to drill in Anwar, but he is changing his mind because of the republican forces that be. Now he can use Palin to say she convinced him otherwise, without really being a flip-flopper. I mean this woman knows more about the Anwar situation than any politician alive. She's probably the only one who has actually been there.

I never really understood why democrats are so opposed to drilling there. One of the main reasons we bought Alaska in the first place was because it is rich with oil. The polar bear argument turned out to be nonsense. So what's left?

Obama said he will get us off of foreign oil dependence in ten years, but he never says how. He doesn't want to drill, so what's his plan? Windmill driven cars?

Shades, have you moved since I met you in person? Are you living in a cave now?

And you know this. . . how, exactly?

I'd actually agree that her gender was a significant factor in picking her. McCain knew he would need something other than another white guy on the ticket to counter all the incoming whining about people not voting for Obama due to race. He needed a woman or someone a little less white for his VP or else he may as well have just handed the election to Obama. He would not have picked a white guy with her short experience list--just like the Democrats never would have selected a white male with Obama's short resume.

Nevertheless, she's an impressive pick. She's a solid conservative and her presence on the ticket is going to energize the conservative base, something McCain badly needed. She has a solid record of integrity and fighting corruption even within her own party. Her life story is nothing short of inspiring; sensible women on both sides are going to admire how she rose to governor of Alaska from humble roots all on her own, unaided by a wealthy family or an actively political husband. Added bonus: the fact that she's gorgeous means liberals aren't going to be able to Linda Tripp her. I'd rather see them sneer about her good looks than call her ugly and fat.

The only thing she leaves to be desired is more experience, but that's a critique that easily backfires. Like I said, she's bulletproof. If the McCain-Palin ticket loses it will be because McCain was such a crap candidate to begin with.

And I love these Chuck Norris-style jokes about Sarah Palin:

~ Sarah Palin became governor because five children left her with too much spare energy.
~ If placed into Schroedinger’s experiment, both Sarah Palins remain alive.

Not long before that, but I guess I assumed from your post that you didn't hear this news until the time you posted. My mistake. :)
