I am ONLY basing my opinion about sexual harassment on the texts I have read that Dehlin posted. It is a harsh position, I understand, but I think the key point here is to assign the responsibility to the superior who improperly influenced a subordinate's employment because of an improper relationship they had.

He screwed up so many times along the way. I certainly don't exonerate him. He and his family have paid for that dearly. I just wonder, what is Rosebud's end game? What EXACTLY is she asking for today? To make him look even worse? Fines? Jail time? Execution?

I am hoping that with this latest reveal of his texts to her, she may get some closure since a number of people here (a place she apparently designated as the site where future historians can glean truth ) seem to agree that yes, she was treated unfairly and inappropriately, by a superior who used his power to end her employment because of a romantic entanglement.

At this point, what can she gain? I would say... nothing. And in fact, her further pursuance of the matter only hurts her. Time to let it go.

But, like I said, I think she's bat-crap crazy, so I am guessing she's got other plans.

With a bit of personal connection and history to back it up, I agree with this assessment. Not her fault - maybe due to childhood trauma which she's discussed extensively in public, which makes the whole thing just lose-lose all around. But she won't get money from this, won't get a book deal, won't get famous, won't get any more vindication than what little her close allies already give. John won't get fined, won't go to jail, won't be executed, won't get divorced over it. So it's pointless. Utterly pointless. She should walk away and stop setting them both on fire over and over. Hopefully the whole dumpster fire dies down soon enough.

Reverend -- it is good to be back. As I mentioned on the old board, I was called to serve and have done so with honor. Now it is time to return to normal life but I will always promote John, Mormon Stories, and all of the good work they continue to do.

To me it's not really my business how a victims chooses to deal. The relevance to me is that her complaints seem to have merit. I can keep that in my pocket regardless of her flaws.
