It's an established fact that the plaintiffs were horrifically abused. So they do have credibility already. They included children of the same man, first when he was married to one Group One's mother, then the children from a subsequent marriage.
So, the church was intimately involved with handling the pedophile father when they knew the allegations of the first children. Then, he received medical treatment. Later he married the second woman and they had the children from Group Two. This woman was never warned by church officials that her husband had a history of active pedophilia. He was a member in good standing.
Thus it appears that the church acted irresponsibly in connection to the pedophile father, resulting in him being able to remarry and abuse again. It appears that the church was motivated to protect this man because of the Miles connection.
So, there is something here, regardless of Barbara Snow's involvement. There is the existence of sexual abuse and church protection of a predator. If the church had excommunicated him, his ability to continue abuse through church connections would have been reduced or eliminated.
