Okay you through some links out there...now expound on them and show me how much money went to energy and specifically Burisma?

That’s my question for you. You’re the one claiming total aid package dollars at twice actual, and then claiming that Burisma was directly receiving some portion of that.

Your claim. Let’s go, throw up some facts and data for us.

Colin Powell was on the board at America Online. In 2001 his wealth was estimated at over $28 million. From the NYT piece written back in 2001: "The disclosure records show that he will be able to take advantage of stock options from that company, which, if exercised today, would be worth $8.27 million." Not bad for a former grunt who was a straight C student who majored in Geology.

Nancy Reagan was appointed to the BOD of Revlon. Was it because of her advanced expertise in marketing and makeup? No. She attended Smith College in Massachusetts, where she majored in drama. The only reason she became a member of the board was because of her last name.

Henry Kissinger was also a member of the board at Revlon. Clearly an expert in Cosmetics.

Neil Armstrong became a member of Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company's board in 1973. He joined joined Thiokol's board in 1989, which is a rubber/chemical company. When Armstrong left the University of Cincinnati, he became the chairman of Cardwell International Ltd., a company that manufactured drilling rigs. What was his expertise in business management and marketing?

Markk's hysteria over Hunter Biden joining his third BOD in 10 years while getting $50,000/month is hilarious. All he's done is relay what Trump tweets. He just gave me a link to Hunter Biden's ABC interview which actually refutes the points he thinks he's making. I'm still waiting for Markk to source his "$3 billion" claim. Without a source its hard to understand what the hell he's even saying.

If he didn't need the DOJ to investigate then why did he need to ask the Ukraine to investigate Biden and make a public announcement that they were doing so?

So what is your answer to the latter part of the question?

Because as commander and chief, he wanted to know if americans, even the vice president and his son, were corrupt and skimming off the top taxpayer funds?

If as Commander IN Chief (not and chief), he wanted to know if Americans, even the vice president and his son, were corrupt and skimming off the top taxpayer funds then why didn't he use his own DOJ to investigate?

There's certainly some questionable nepotism, and I wish those in the Obama admin who voiced concerns regarding optics had been takin more seriously. I also see no reason to not take Ryaboshapka and Lutsenko at their word, nor to doubt the myriad of journalistic and watchdog investigations into the conspiracy theories.

Do really believe he was given millions because his mobster boss thought he could help the company in everyday business?

I believe that they thought that his name, and the help of his consulting firm, would help the company with their stated goals at the time.

Was it worth upwards of $50K a month? To be honest, I don't really think anyone's job justifies that kind of money.

One thing I appreciate about libertarian thought is, why do we give these corrupt nations so much money?

Dunno. There is a long string of corruption with Israel and Netanyahu, yet we are not only still showering them with money, but rewarding them with geopolitical victories galore.

I understand there are many valid reasons for it, mainly for protecting our interests and national security...but it is really foolish in so many ways in that the money never seems to go where it is suppose to, and just feed corruption.

I have a friend who worked a lot in Iraq during the reconstruction phase. Even hearing it firsthand from someone I have no reason to doubt, it's hard to believe the tales of corruption, incompetence and waste.

This thread was about impeachment. Wonder how it got derailed?

Breaking with the traditional annual hearing, intelligence service leaders are now refusing to meet with the House intelligence committee on top threats facing the country.

As the country becomes a sham democracy, I think it's worth remembering that you if you remove the possibility of peaceful means of democratic redress, you will get violent ones. Repression of that response works, but not always and not forever.

LTC Vindman and his brother were just fired. I’d love to see their next OERs.

This isn't just a friendly invite. It's a formal Congressional hearing in their oversight capacity. This is just an example of the Trump admin flouting lawful Congressional oversight because it knows nothing can stop them from doing so.

It's a smaller example, but this is why dragging impeachment out to closer to the election was the smarter thing to do. We've now got an amoral, corrupt President with a proven track record in trying to cheat elections with months of lawlessness leading up to an election.
